Document Procedure or Test Instructions

You can document the test orders and test instructions regarding the pre-procedure or post-procedure instructions for a patient.

1. In the left Navigation bar, select Surgery Scheduling.
   The Procedure Scheduling template opens.
2. In the Additional details section, select the Procedure/test instructions link.
   The Procedure/Test Instructions template opens.

   

3. Select the appropriate option to enter the pre-procedure or post-procedure instructions.
4. Select Instructions by, and select the name of the provider.
5. Select the appropriate option to display the test orders or test instructions in the Select An Order grid.
6. Select an order from the grid.
7. In the Instructions section, do one of the following:
   • Select Available Instructions, and select an instruction from the list.
   • Enter instructions in the Instructions field, or select My Phrases to select from the saved phrases.
8. In the Additional Instructions section, do the following:
   1. Enter the medication, total dose, and the way of taking the medication.
   2. Select the appropriate options for the preparations before surgery, and enter any additional information.
9. To add additional instructions, select Save & Add New.
10. To save and exit, select Save & Close.
