Review Procedures and Tests for Billing
Review procedures listed in the Procedure Billing grid. If appropriate, select one of the billing check boxes in the Procedure Billing panel. No procedures this encounter Procedure only encounter Note: To bill for both the encounter and procedures, the check boxes must be cleared. Link a Procedure to an Assessment from the Procedure Billing Grid
You can link a procedure to an assessment on the Finalize - OPH template. In the Diagnosis panel, select an assessment in the Today's Assessments grid. In the Procedure Billing panel, select a procedure. In the Diagnosis panel, click the Link Diagnosis to Procedure button. Note: To assign more than one diagnosis code to a test or procedure, you have to use the Tests and Procedures Update - OPH template. tests and procedure update - oph template The assessment's code appears in the DX1 field in the Procedure Billing grid. Procedure Billing in Ophthalmology
Providers can handle procedure billing for NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite, including linking procedures to one or more diagnoses on the Procedure Billing panel on the Finalize - OPH template. The Procedures/Tests grid displays procedures performed during the encounter. Document an Ocular Procedure
You can document Ophthalmology procedures in detail on the Record Patient Procedure - OPH template. Access the Record Patient Procedure – OPH template . At the top of the template, select the Eye involved in the procedure: OD, OS, or OU. Click the Dx description field to enter a diagnosis description. The diagnosis search window opens. Search for and select the diagnosis, and then click Select. The system opens the Procedure window. The diagnosis details fill the Dx description and Dx code fields. Search for and select the procedure. The selected procedure description and its associated code appear in the Px description and Px code fields. Enter a diagnosis Status. Select up to four billing modifiers using the Modifier fields 1 through 4. If you are not going to bill for the procedure, this step is optional. Select a Category option for the ocular condition. To exclude the procedure from billing, select the Suppress billing check box. This sets a flag to NextGen® Enterprise PM that the

Add a New Test in the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests Data Set
From the Data Sets Setup practice template, click Add.The Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tests Setup template opens. On the Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tests Setup template, click the Clear button to clear any values that display in the edit fields above the grid. Add is enabled. Enter a value for Test type. Click the Test type field and select from the Procedures search window.The selected procedure automatically fills the Test type field and its associated code fills the Billing/Test code field. If the Billing/Test code edit field already has a value, this value can be edited using free text. The Test type field automatically fills with the description associated with a billing/test code selected from the Procedures search window. Enter a value for Billing/Test code. Edit Billing Charges for an Existing Procedure
On the Joint Aspiration/Injection template , Procedure billing section, double click the row in the grid to open a template.
