Manage a Diagnostic Test Order
You can manage test orders on the
All Orders Management
template.
In Ophthalmology, you can document the completion of tests and their results on the procedure and testing templates.
Note:
Results for Ophthalmic diagnostic tests are
not
entered on the
All Orders Management
template.
In the
Orders
panel, click the
Order Management
link.
The
All Orders Management
template opens.
Make applicable changes.
Click
Save
and then click
Close
.

Access the Order Tests - OPH Template
Providers can order and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures specific to Ophthalmology on the Order Tests - OPH template or by accessing Orders panel. To access the Order Tests - OPH template. Order Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tests from Orders Panel
Open the Intake - OPH template and then expand the Orders panel. Click Add Diagnostic Test.A grid with different diagnostic tests appears. add diagnostic test Select an appropriate test from the grid. Select a side from the picklist Click the Diagnosis field to select appropriate diagnosis from the DX history window or select the diagnosis using the Diagnosis Lookup link. In Schedule tests, select Today or select Other and select a timeframe. Select the appropriate transits and location. Select Patient may leave after test, if applicable. Enter additional comments in the Order Comment field. In the Ordered field, by default, the current provider is selected. However, you can change the user if necessary by clicking the Ordered field and selecting the desired user. To task a technician about the tests being ordered, click the Task button. Orders
Patient orders appear in the Orders panel. You can display orders by category using the Filter options in the panel. You can also filter Diagnostic Orders to display All tests or sort by the order status. The order categories are as follows: Appointment Requests/Orders Diagnostic Orders Labs oph order panel The Order Management link in the Orders panel opens the Order Management template, where you can update the status, co-sign, or cancel orders. The Follow-up button opens the Follow-up/Disposition template, where you can place follow-up orders. Place Orders with any Orders Template
Place Orders with any Orders Template Place Orders with any Orders Template When you open the Assessments/My Plan/Orders tabbed template set, you can choose to place orders using the customizable My Plan template or from one of the other ordering templates in the set, including Labs, Diagnostics, Referrals, and Office Procedures. Note: Orders for Ophthalmic diagnostic tests are ordered using the Order Tests link. Select the assessment to be associated with the orders. Select your orders by selecting the options or check box corresponding to the item you want to order. Click Place Order. Edit Ophthalmic Diagnostic Order in the Order Panel
On the Provider tab, expand the Orders panel, select Diagnostic Orders from the Filters section.A grid with existing diagnostic tests appears. Select an order from the grid. oph diagnostic order editing Update the order details in the appropriate sections. Enter a test note or complication, if any. Click Follow Up to add follow up details, if applicable. Enter result or interpretation by using either free text or My Phrases or select from the Interpretation picklist. Note: For information on configuring interpretations for the diagnostic tests, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Setup Guide for NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite. If an ordered test has been performed, click Test Performed to update the status of the test. If an ordered test has been completed, click Test Completed to update the status of the test. Enter Results for Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests
Before you begin Place orders for diagnostic tests. You can document results, impressions, and comments for Ophthalmology diagnostic tests performed on the Testing - OPH template. Access the Testing - OPH template. In the Ordered Diagnostic Tests section, select an order in the grid. The fields in the Selected Tests Details section fill with the order details. Expand the corresponding test panel. The following diagnostic tests appear on their own panels and are billed separately: A-Scan, IOL, Endothelial Cell Count, Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, Slit Lamp Photos, External Photos, and Farnsworth. Enter the Interpretation and findings for the test in the corresponding fields. For diagnostic tests on their own panel, the Test Completed button in the test panel is enabled. Click Test Completed. When you finish performing and documenting the diagnostic test, indicate that the test is completed. Generate an updated Tech Report. Parent topic: Diagnostic Testing Performed by Technicians
