Indicate that a Diagnostic Test was Completed

Before you begin You can document that the diagnostic test was performed and enter the findings or results on the Testing - OPH template. After you have documented the test results and interpretations on the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests panel, the status of the test is updated. Access the Testing - OPH template. On the Ordered Diagnostic Tests panel, select one of the following the options Show options to filter the grid. All Tests Obtained Selected test Highlight the row in the Orders grid that displays the diagnostic test you want to update. Details for the selected row display in the data fields below the grid. The selected Show option changes to Selected test. In the corresponding panel for the selected test, click Test Completed. Generate a Tech Report

Access the Testing - OPH Template

To open the Testing – OPH template, do one of the following: From the left navigation pane, click the Testing link. From the Procedures - OPH template, click the Testing link. From the Prelim Exam - OPH template, click the Testing link or the link found in the Additional Navigation section. From the Provider - OPH template, click the Testing link or the link found in the Additional Navigation section. Before you begin Perform the ordered Ophthalmology diagnostic test. After you have performed an Ophthalmology diagnostic test, you can update the status of the test order to indicate that the diagnostic test was performed. Access the Testing- OPH template. On the Ordered Diagnostic Tests panel, select the Ordered to filter the grid. Highlight the row in the Orders.Details for the selected row display in the data fields below the grid. The Show option changes to Selected test. Click Test Performed.The test order is updated to include the following details: Performed by Performed date Performed time The status of the test is updated to obtained in the grid. A Test performed indicator appears on the panel for the test. Order Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tests from Order Tests - OPH

You can order Ophthalmology specific diagnostic tests for the patient on the Order Tests – OPH template. You can configure up to 40 tests with test codes on the Order Tests – OPH template. For more information about configuring ophthalmic diagnostic tests, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Setup Guide for NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite. Access the Order Tests - OPH template. The Priority field defaults to Normal. To change the Priority, click the field and select a value from the list. The Ordered date defaults the current encounter date. To change the date, click the Ordered date field and select a date from the Calendar Click the Indication field and select a diagnosis using the diagnosis search window. The Subject field defaults to Test Request by default. To change, click the Subject field and enter the new subject. Enter additional comments in the Order comment field. To attach a template, select Yes for Attach a template? By default, No is selected. Se

Diagnostic Testing Performed by Technicians

Diagnostic tests performed by the technician are ordered and documented on the Testing – OPH template. Orders for testing must be placed before billable tests are performed. On the Testing – OPH template, tests are organized in panels. You can expand the panels to view the data fields for documenting a test. Note: Because Slit Lamp and External Photos use the same billing code, two billing lines appear in the Procedure Billing grid.
