Before you begin Place orders for diagnostic tests. You can document results, impressions, and comments for Ophthalmology diagnostic tests performed on the Testing - OPH template. Access the Testing - OPH template. In the Ordered Diagnostic Tests section, select an order in the grid. The fields in the Selected Tests Details section fill with the order details. Expand the corresponding test panel. The following diagnostic tests appear on their own panels and are billed separately: A-Scan, IOL, Endothelial Cell Count, Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, Slit Lamp Photos, External Photos, and Farnsworth. Enter the Interpretation and findings for the test in the corresponding fields. For diagnostic tests on their own panel, the Test Completed button in the test panel is enabled. Click Test Completed. When you finish performing and documenting the diagnostic test, indicate that the test is completed. Generate an updated Tech Report. Before you begin You can document that the diagnostic test was performed and enter the findings or results on the Testing - OPH template. After you have documented the test results and interpretations on the Ophthalmology Diagnostic Tests panel, the status of the test is updated. Access the Testing - OPH template. On the Ordered Diagnostic Tests panel, select one of the following the options Show options to filter the grid. All Tests Obtained Selected test Highlight the row in the Orders grid that displays the diagnostic test you want to update. Details for the selected row display in the data fields below the grid. The selected Show option changes to Selected test. In the corresponding panel for the selected test, click Test Completed. You can update test details for Ophthalmology diagnostic testing directly on the Ordered Diagnostic Tests panel on the Testing - OPH template. Access the Order Tests - OPH template. On the Ordered Diagnostic Tests panel select the Ordered option above the grid. Highlight the row in the grid. Details for the selected row display in the Selected Test Details section. You can update values for the following: Status Indication and Code Eye In the Notes/Complications field, add comments if any. Click Update. To open the Testing – OPH template, do one of the following: From the left navigation pane, click the Testing link. From the Procedures - OPH template, click the Testing link. From the Prelim Exam - OPH template, click the Testing link or the link found in the Additional Navigation section. From the Provider - OPH template, click the Testing link or the link found in the Additional Navigation section. The Additional Tests panel on the Testing - OPH template includes tests that are not billed separately from the exam. Instead, they are considered as part of the exam. Diagnostic tests performed by the technician are ordered and documented on the Testing – OPH template. Orders for testing must be placed before billable tests are performed. On the Testing – OPH template, tests are organized in panels. You can expand the panels to view the data fields for documenting a test. Note: Because Slit Lamp and External Photos use the same billing code, two billing lines appear in the Procedure Billing grid.
