Importing Data from Marco Connect Interfaced Devices

You can capture test findings performed on an interfaced Marco Connect optical device and import the values for lensometry, refractions, autorefraction, glasses prescriptions, keratometry, tonometry, glare and contrast, and vergence into the Ophthalmic templates. The Marco Connect interface is used with the Optical Interface module to import all data collected from the device to the Optical Studies module and then to the corresponding fields on the Prescreening – OPH template. Pre-Screening

The Prescreening - OPH template is designed to retrieve readings from test equipment through implemented interfaces. Retrieved findings are brought into the exam data fields of the Prescreening - OPH template and are shared to the data fields of corresponding exams on other templates. Exam sections on the Prescreening - OPH template include the following: Lensometry Autorefractor Keratometer Phoropter Glare/Contrast Vergence measurement Glasses prescription After all readings have been captured from the various instruments, continue to the Prelim Exam - OPH template to review findings and document preliminary Ophthalmology exams. Document a Returning Patient’s Current Glasses Prescription

Before you begin To perform these steps, the patient must be a returning patient with prescription information for eyeglasses from a previous encounter. For a returning patient with historical data, you can copy a patient’s previous eyeglasses prescription by selecting a set of Lensometry, Refraction, or glasses prescription values from the OPH – Lensometry/Refraction History template to the current encounter. Click the Historical Lensometry/Refraction link. Select the desired row containing the values to copy from one of the grids: Lensometry History, Refraction History, or Glasses Prescription History. Lensometry/Refraction Exams

The Lensometry/Refraction panel or section displays current encounter exam findings, as well as findings for the last five encounters, in separate grids for OD and OS on the Prelim Exam - OPH and Provider - OPH tab templates. lensometry refraction panel data The Lensometry/Refraction panel is found on multiple templates, including: Home Page - OPH– displays historical data Prelim Exam – OPH – used for technician workflow Provider – OPH – used for provider workflow Oph EyeTech – used for documenting preliminary exam findings Lensometry and refraction findings are documented on the Oph EyeTech template on the Lensometry/Refraction panel. Document Interpretation of Diagnostic Test Results

Providers can document their interpretation of results for Retinal diagnostic tests on the Retinal Diagnostic Test Report – OPH template. Access the Retina Diagnostics template set. Select the DX Interpretation tab.The DX Interpretation - OPH template opens. From the Ordered Diagnostic Tests section, select the Show 'Obtained' option to filter what appears in the Orders grid. Click the Interpret Test link below the Orders grid. The Retinal Diagnostic Test Report – OPH template opens, showing Obtained Retinal diagnostic tests in the Orders grid. Document a Contact Lens Fitting and Evaluation Visit

Depending on the practice, workflow on the Contact Lens Evaluation - OPH template may begin after intake or after preliminary exams performed by a technician. Any information previously documented during the encounter appears in the corresponding data fields on the Contact Lens Evaluation - OPH template. This information can be reviewed and updated as appropriate. In the Reason for Visit panel, the provider reviews the technician's documentation, makes updates, and signs-off on the HPI information. In the Visual Acuity panel, enter exam findings or review and update previously documented results. visual acuity panel In the General Information panel, enter or review and update the patient information related to wearing contact lenses. general information panel In the Contact Lens History section, review and select the current contact lens prescription from the grids. contact lens history panel The prescription values appear in the fields of the Current Contact Lens Prescription section.
