Import Data from Optical Studies Module

Before you begin

To import data from the Optical Studies module, you must first set up the Marco Connect Interface with a Marco Connect device.

You can capture readings for tests during the patient exam with an interfaced Marco Connect device and import the values into the templates. Tests include lensometry, refractions, auto-refraction, glasses prescriptions, keratometry, tonometry, glare and contrast, and vergence.
  1. From the left navigation pane, click the Pre-Screening link to open the Prescreening – OPH template.
The top of the Pre-screening - OPH template, showing the Import from Optical Studies button that is visible when you have a Marco Connect interfaced device.

  2. Click the Import from Optical Studies button.
Readings taken by the interfaced device are imported into NextGen® Enterprise EHR and appear in the corresponding test data fields on the Prescreening – OPH template. If multiple lensometry readings are imported, the Optical Studies Lensometry – OPH template opens automatically.

The system automatically checks the lensometry fields and selects the Lensometry option that corresponds to the first set of fields that do not contain data. The Copy to Lensometry and Lensometry options are enabled.

  4. Click Copy to Lensometry.
The values in the selected row are copied to the set of lensometry fields indicated by the selected Lensometry option.
  5. Click Save & Close.
