Record the Patient's Refusal to Sign for Contact Lens Prescription

If the patient refuses to sign for the printed copy of their contact lens prescription, you can record that in the Contact Lens Consent section. On the Contact Lens Evaluation - OPH template, in the Contact Lens Consent section, expand the Contact Lens Consent/Prescription panel. For more information on enabling the Contact Lens Consent section, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Setup Guide for NextGen® Ophthalmic Suite. If the section is already enabled, go to Step 2. Select Paper Copy. If you select Paper Copy, the Patient refuses to sign that they have received the contact lens prescription check box appears next to the Print RX 1 and Print RX 2 buttons. Document a Contact Lens Fitting and Evaluation Visit

Depending on the practice, workflow on the Contact Lens Evaluation - OPH template may begin after intake or after preliminary exams performed by a technician. Any information previously documented during the encounter appears in the corresponding data fields on the Contact Lens Evaluation - OPH template. This information can be reviewed and updated as appropriate. In the Reason for Visit panel, the provider reviews the technician's documentation, makes updates, and signs-off on the HPI information. In the Visual Acuity panel, enter exam findings or review and update previously documented results. visual acuity panel In the General Information panel, enter or review and update the patient information related to wearing contact lenses. general information panel In the Contact Lens History section, review and select the current contact lens prescription from the grids. contact lens history panel The prescription values appear in the fields of the Current Contact Lens Prescription section.

Information Documented for a Contact Lens Evaluation

The Contact Lens Evaluation template includes the following panels and sections where information can be documented for the contact lens fitting and evaluation visit: Panel/Section Description Reason for Visit Displays previously documented reason for visit and HPI information for the encounter; this information can be reviewed and updated; this is the same panel as on other templates. Enable the Contact Lens/Eyeglasses Consent Section

The Eye Configuration practice template setting for contact lens prescription enables the Contact Lens/Eyeglasses Consent section. On the Eye Configuration practice template, go to the Document Configurations section. Select the Eyeglasses and/or Contact lens prescription has been sent to patient portal. The digital copy to be accessed from this website: check box. Enter the address of the patient portal or website where the patient can obtain a digital copy of their contact lens prescription. You can add general information for documenting eye injection procedures on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template. The following table describes the fields and links appearing above the Today’s Assessments panel on the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, which are used to add general information for eye injection procedures. Field / link Description Specialty By default, the Ophthalmology option is displayed as the specialty when you open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template.
