Edit and Renew Patient Medications

You can edit and renew a patient's medications based on their condition, or you can discontinue a medication or mark it as ineffective in the NextGen® Mobile Medications module. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view for your patient. Select Today's Visit. Note: You must select an unlocked encounter or create an encounter. In NextGen® Mobile, the Medications module is available for NextGen® Enterprise EHR 6.2021.1 and later versions. Select Medications (Rx). In Medications, on the Active tab, select the necessary medication information "" icon, and then select View/Edit or Renew. Select Yes to check the current formulary status of the selected medication. In Drug Alert, review and select Acknowledge next to each interaction, or select Scroll to the bottom and then select Acknowledge All & Continue. You can select a reason from the existing Drug Utilization Review (DUR) reasons, or you can add a reason as a comment to the interaction or to all interactions. You can cancel the

Create and Edit Your Favorite Medication Groups

You can create a medication group with the necessary medications and do the following on existing favorite groups: Create a duplicate medication with different sig details Edit the selected medications sig information Add the selected medication to another group Delete the selected medication from the group Open NextGen® Mobile. For electronic prescription of controlled substances (ePCS) medications in NextGen® Mobile, you must set up the following: You must have NextGen® Enterprise API (application programming interface) licenses. When you search for medications in NextGen® Mobile, the CS medications appear in red along with the DEA class codes; C1, C2, C3, C4, and C5. To control user rights for electronic prescriptions, System Administrator follows the DEA regulations to restrict eRx access rights in applications and practices. These measures rely on identity-proofing to prevent fraud. To comply with the DEA regulations, NextGen® Mobile providers can use any of the following ePCS authentication methods. Prescribing Medications

You can create a medication for a patient in the Medications module in NextGen® Mobile. If you have configured the ePCS setup, you can save the Controlled Substances (CS) medication for a patient. You can prescribe CS medication only if you have set up the provider relationship as self in System Administrator. After adding a medication, you can fill the required fields for prescribing the medication and send the prescription to the pharmacy. For non-CS medications, you can verify the medication details in the Rx Review view and send the prescription. To prescribe CS medications, you must authenticate your prescription in the Rx Verification view using either of the following ePCS authentication methods.
