When adding, refilling, or renewing a medication, you are prompted to provide pharmacy information for the patient. If the patient has one or more default pharmacies defined, you can select a pharmacy from the list of available pharmacies. If the patient does not have a default pharmacy or needs to have the prescription sent to a different pharmacy, you can perform a pharmacy search.
- Open NextGen® Mobile.
- Select a medication for the patient.
The RxDetails view opens.
- Fill the required fields, and select Save.
If the
DUR Alert view opens, select
Reason to select a reason to allow the medication, and select
Allow.
Note: If there is no encounter created for the current date, a message appears for you to create an encounter. You can select Yes or No to proceed with the medication.
- To search for a pharmacy, do the following:
- Select Search.
The Search section opens.
- Fill the fields with the appropriate information.
- Select Search.
The search results appear.
- To select a pharmacy, locate the appropriate pharmacy from the search results list, and select eRx.
Note: If default pharmacies are available, you can select eRx corresponding to the desired pharmacy in the Send eRx view.
The
RxReview view opens for non-controlled substances (CS) medications and the
RxVerification view opens for the cs medications.
- To send the non CS medication prescription to the selected pharmacy, select Send in Rx Review.
A message appears stating that the medication is succesfully sent. The medication completion icon

appears on the
Schedule view.
- To send the CS medication prescription to the selected pharmacy, use either of the following authentication methods.
- Symantec™ VIP Token
- IdenTrust Mobile Authentication Service (MAS)
