Before you begin
You must ensure the following:
- The ePCS authentication method is set up in universal and user preferences in System Administrator. EPCS Authentication Method for ePrescribing must be set as IdenTrust.
Note: User preference takes precedence over universal preference.
- The Identrust Mobile Authentication Service (MAS) application is installed on your device.
You can use IdenTrust MAS authentication method to perform authentication while prescribing Controlled Substances (CS) medication.
- In NextGen® Mobile, open the RxVerification view for a CS medication.
- To authenticate your CS prescription, select Verify in the IdenTrust section.
Note: The username is automatically filled based on the provider setup or logon.
NextGen® Mobile enables Send and generates an ePCS ID. A message appears asking you to complete authentication in the IdenTrust application before selecting Send.
- In the IdenTrust application, swipe to approve the medication for the ID.
The
Enter Password view opens.
Note: If the timer expires, you must retry the authentication.
- Enter your password.
- Select OK.
- To send the medication to pharmacy, select Send in the Rx Verification view.
A message appears stating that the medication is successfully sent.
If you decline the authentication or take no action, a message appears stating that ePrescribing of controlled medication is denied as the authentication is failed. If the medication is not sent, a message appears stating that you have to retry sending the medication.
