Installation Prerequisites

For installing NextGen Direct to Desktop (D2D) on your desktop and setting up Direct to Desktop in NextGen® Mobile, you must ensure to have the following: An authorized and authenticated desktop with NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.9.0 or later installed. Note: For hosted clients, the clinic's IT team or the NextGen Hosting Services team must install NextGen D2D on the terminal servers where NextGen® Enterprise EHR is installed. Users can open NextGen D2D on the available terminal server and pair with NextGen® Mobile. NextGen D2D saves the pairing records per user login and desktop. Users must pair again when logging on to a new terminal server. An iOS™ mobile device to install the NextGen® Mobile application. NextGen® Mobile plus user permissions to use Direct to Desktop in NextGen® Mobile version 9.0.0 or later. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8

To install and use the NextGen D2D application, you must install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 (x86 and x64). To download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8, do one of the following: Go to https://d2d-package.entradahealth.net/, and follow the onscreen instruction. Go to https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net48-developer-pack-offline-installer. The Microsoft .NET Framework download page opens, and the ndp48-devpack-enu installer file is automatically downloaded. If not, you can select click here to download manually. Locate the file, right-click, and then select Run as administrator. A message appears displaying the Microsoft .NET Framework installer file details. You must verify and confirm to continue the installation. Select Yes. Pair NextGen® Mobile with Desktops

You can pair NextGen® Mobile with multiple desktops. Up to 100 devices can be displayed on the Paired Devices window. Open NextGen® Mobile. Select Direct to Desktop. The Dictation window opens. Dictation view with select a device and pair a device options Select Pair a Device. The OTP verification view opens. Open NextGen D2D on the desktop to pair. NextGen D2D window Select Pair New Device. A four digit OTP appears. Enter the OTP in NextGen® Mobile. Select Verify and Proceed. A message appears confirming that the device is paired. Select OKAY. What happens when NextGen® Mobile closes suddenly without warning? When NextGen® Mobile closes, your device is disconnected from the desktop you are connected to. The NextGen D2D window displays a message about the disconnection and prompts you to reconnect. You can follow the steps for pairing your NextGen® Mobile to get connected again. What happens when NextGen® Mobile disconnects? When NextGen® Mobile disconnects, a message appears indicating that you are disconnected, and you can reconnect. On reconnecting, NextGen® Mobile is automatically connected to most recent paired desktop that is currently active and available. If there are no active desktops available, you can do one of the following: Open a paired desktop to make it active and then connect. Pair a new desktop and connect. Uninstall NextGen Direct to Desktop

On your desktop, open Control Panel. Control panel In Programs, select Uninstall a program. The Programs and Features window opens. Programs and features window Locate and right-click NextGen D2D, and then select Uninstall. A message appears asking you to confirm the NextGen D2D uninstallation. Select Yes. Dictate with NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop

Before you begin You must turn on Auto Launch Speech Box in Settings > Edit Dictator to automatically open the speech box when you connect to NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop. By default, the Auto Launch Speech Box option is turned off. After pairing your desktop with NextGen® Mobile, you can use NextGen® Direct-to-Desktop to dictate into NextGen® Enterprise EHR, Speech Box, Notepad, or Microsoft Word®. You can place the cursor where you want to enter data, and start dictation in NextGen® Mobile. Open NextGen® Mobile. On Hub, select D2D icon. If Auto Launch Speech Box in Edit Dictator is turned off, you can open Speech Box manually with the Open Speech Box voice command. You can also open Speech Box from your desktop by selecting Open Speech Box on NextGen D2D. Dictation and Speech Box open. Dictation view Speech box Start dictating to Speech Box.
