Dictating When the Text Box Is Open

If you have the appropriate permission, you can use the Hide Streaming Text option in the Settings view to turn on and off the text box while dictating. When the text box is open while recording, you can view your dictation text with the dictation streaming workflow. The dictation streaming workflow is as follows: Record Dictation Ready to record the dictation. Listening Listening to your dictation. Processing Correcting the dictated note for grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors. Note: The transcription system can only process and refine content greater than fifty characters in length. Transcript Complete! Transcription is done, and the dictated note is available. Google™ speech-to-text (STT) does not record and process the dictated note in the following situations: If you select the back button or open other windows while recording the dictation or processing the dictated note. If the internet connection is lost. You can use your device keyboard or the built-in NextGen® Mobile

Delete Streaming Dictation

You can clear the entire dictation if you do not use tags, or clear the dictation for individual tags. When you clear dictation, both the audio and text files are deleted. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. To delete dictation when the text box is open, do one of the following: If you do not use tags, select Clear Audio & Text. If you use tags, select the tag you want to clear, and then select Clear Audio & Text. A message appears for you to confirm the deletion. To delete dictation when the text box is hidden, do one of the following: If you do not use tags, select Clear. If you use tags, select the tag you want to clear, and then select Clear. Record Dictation without Tags When the Text Box is Hidden

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. Select Record Dictation. Record dictation without tags The Stop button appears with a timer for recording your dictation. Begin speaking.The audio waves track your dictation, and the timer on each side displays the duration. If recorded audio exists, the new dictation is added to the end of the recording. Recording view without text box open To stop or pause your recording, select Stop. Stop switches back to Record. When the dictation text appears in the text box, Send is turned on. To resume recording, select Record. Your new dictation is added to the end of the existing dictation. To transmit your job, select Send.The job appears in the Completed Jobs list. The dictation completion icon appears on the Scheduleview. Note: To add observations about the dictation in the NextGen Speech-to-Text Surveywindow, select Take Survey > NextGen Dictation , enter your feedback, and then select Finish and Submit. Record Dictation with Tags When the Text Box is Hidden

Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job with tags. Select the tag you want to dictate into.If the tag does not contain previously recorded audio, the recording begins immediately, and the STOPStop icon appears. If the tag contains previously recorded audio, the RECStart icon appears. You must select the tag again to record. Begin speaking.The audio waves track your dictation, and the timer on each side displays the duration. If recorded audio exists, the new dictation is added to the end of the recording. To stop or pause the recording, select the tag that you are dictating. To resume dictating in the same tag, select the tag, and resume speaking. Your new dictation is added to the end of the existing audio recording and text capture. You can also select another tag to stop recording in the current tag. NextGen Mobile Dictation Streaming Workflow

With NextGen® Mobile dictation streaming, you can do the following: Dictate your job with or without displaying the streaming text. You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. If you have macros set up for your dictator profile, you can use them to quickly insert snippets of text into your dictation. You can attach images to your job. You can make annotations on the attached images and add text boxes to the images. When you are ready to transmit your job, you can select an edit option that controls how your job is handled when you transmit it, and whether it returns to you for additional review. You can choose from several clinical workflow options, including sending to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, sending to transcription, or performing a device edit. Edit Streaming Dictation in the Text Box

Before you begin To view the dictation text box, you must turn off the Hide Streaming Text option in Settings. Note: You can edit the dictated note using keyboard and verbal commands when the transcription system processes and completes the transcription of the dictated note. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open a dictation job. The streaming text box opens displaying the Record Dictation message. Record your dictation. The dictation text is processed, and the text box displays the refined note with the Transcript Complete! message. View the dictation text in the text box. You can use vertical scrolling for long text that extends beyond the text box's view. On the text box, select the location where you want to add or change text. To edit dictation, do one of the following: Use the keyboard to delete or insert text. Use NextGen® Mobile verbal commands to edit a text. Select a word or a block of text, and use the commands on the context menu to edit text. The context menu contains useful commands
