Add Lab and Radiology Tests to Orders

Before you begin

  • To place orders with NextGen® Compendium in NextGen® Mobile, you must configure Use NextGen Compendium for New Orders in File Maintenance.
  • To use favorite tests in NextGen® Mobile, you must configure favorite tests for the practice and provider in File Maintenance.

    For more information on configuring the favorite tests and NextGen® Compendium, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Orders Module Setup Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR.

You can search for and select laboratory and radiology tests from the provider, practice, and master list tests and add them to an order.

  1. Open NextGen® Mobile.
  2. Open the Patient Chart view for your patient.
  3. Select Today's Visit.

  4. Select + Add next to the Orders.
    The Select Order Type view opens displaying the Laboratory, and Radiology order types.
  5. Select Laboratory or Radiology.
    The New Order view opens displaying the patient demographic, clinical, and performing entity information.
  6. Optional: To add tests from NextGen® Compendium, turn on Use NextGen Compendium.
  7. Select Plus icon next to the test type.
    The respective view opens displaying the provider favorite tests by default.
  8. Search for and select tests from the provider, practice, and master list, and then select Done.
    You can search by entering the first three letters of a test name. You can select Continue Search on Server to view additional tests from the master list.
    The selected tests with the mapped diagnoses appear in the New Order view.
  9. Optional: To add a site for the radiology test, select + Add next to the corresponding test Site, and then select the site from the Select Site view.
    The selected site appears next to Site under the corresponding test.
  10. Optional: To add a test comment, select Comment icon next to the corresponding test, enter your comment, and then select Ok.
    The comment is linked to the respective test.
  11. Optional: To add clinical information, select Clinical Information, enter the order information, and then select Ok.
