Place Orders using NextGen® Ambient Assist

Before you begin

Ensure that you have the permission for NextGen® Ambient Assist in NextGen® Mobile Cloud Portal.

You can select tests from the Suggested tab in Orders without manually searching, and send them to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can assign the task to yourself, a workgroup, or a NextGen® Enterprise user.

  1. Open NextGen® Mobile.
  2. Open the Patient Chart view for your patient.
  3. Select Today's Visit.

  4. Select + Add next to Orders.
    The + Add option is not available on locked encounters and for non-NextGen® Enterprise users.
    The Select Order Type view opens displaying the Laboratory and Radiology order types.
  5. Select an order type.
    The respective New Order view opens displaying the patient demographic, clinical, and performing entity information.
  6. Optional: To update ambient-order-performing entities, select Performing Entity, select Settings icon, and then select or update the performing entities, and select Done.
  7. Optional: To add patient diagnoses, select Plus icon next to Select Diagnosis, select a diagnosis from the list, and then select Done.
    The relevant diagnosis codes are automatically added to Select Diagnosis based on the generated note.
  8. Select Plus icon next to the respective test type.
    The corresponding view opens.

  9. Select the Suggested tab, select the necessary tests, and then select Done.
    You can select Info icon to view the suggested test evidence. You can also provide feedback on the suggested lab tests.
    The selected tests with the mapped diagnoses appear in the New Order view.
  10. To send the order to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select Send To EHR.
  11. To send the task, select the recipient from Favorites or Workgroups, and then select Send Task.
