Local Template Fields

On a template, you can temporarily set up the following types of fields as local fields that are not saved to the database: Data entry (edit) Checkbox Radio button You can set up triggers for local template fields as you do for non-local fields. Note: The Template Editor in NextGen® Enterprise EHR Admin mode allows you to reconfigure text fields to support default actions. The length of the text field types defaults to 1 instead of 0 for text box, checkbox, and radio button fields. You can select local from the Table list on the Insert window for each of these fields. Use In-place Field Caption Editing

You can enter a caption directly in a selected label, push button, radio button, check box, or active text field in place of entering it in field property. Fields with captions are transparent in Template Editor. Note: You cannot change field captions on NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To use in-place caption editing when you create a field, do the following: Leave the caption blank in the Insert field window. After you create the field, select the field on the template, and enter the caption. To remove the caption you just entered, select Undo or select CTRL+Z. To use in-place caption editing to edit an existing field caption, do the following: Select the field on the template and enter the caption. The new caption overwrites the existing caption. Insert a Label Field

Drag the Label icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert a Label window opens. Note: The label name is automatically assigned in the Name box. You can enter a name of your choice. If necessary, select a mask from the Mask list. Enter the text to appear on the label in the Caption window. Note: Instead of entering the caption here, you can use in-place caption editing to enter the caption directly in the field after you have created it. To reposition and resize the field on the template, do the following: Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. Enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes. To do the following, select the checkbox: To apply a style to the label, select the applicable Style checkbox. The Preview window shows you what each label style looks like. You can apply one or more styles.

Insert Radio Buttons

Before you begin Ensure that the Enhanced checkbox option in the Preferences tab of the Template Properties window is selected to make the Extended tab and the Large Icon and Push checkboxes available in the General tab of the Insert Radio Button window. You must set the Universal Preference for Enable Radio Button Clearing to True in System Administrator to allow users to clear a selected radio button. You can log on as a KBM admin in Template Editor to modify the properties of NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates. Open Template Editor, and then from the Fields toolbar, drag Radio Button to the template design area.The Insert Radio Button window opens. Insert an Active Image Field

To enable an active image, set up triggers for each of the active regions within an active image. Drag the Active Image icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Active Image window opens. From the Image list, select the image you want. A preview of the selected image appears. Note: All active images must be created using the Image Region Editor Utility. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. Note: The Auto Size check box is selected permanently by default. To hide the active image when the template is opened, select the Hidden check box. Select the check box for the border Style.
