On the main toolbar, select
Patient
, enter search criteria in
Patient Lookup
, and then select
Find
.
Matching people and patient records appear in the search results.
Optional:
To sort the results in ascending or descending order, select a column header.
You can add or remove columns by right-clicking the column header and then selecting or clearing the checkbox.
Optional:
Select the down arrow next to
Find
, and then select
Turn on Emergency Access
or
Turn off Emergency Access
as needed.
Select the correct patient record, and then select
Open
.

Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart
From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Lookup. In the Patient Lookup window, do one of the following:. For a new patient, select New. For an existing patient, search for and select the patient record, select the open menu icon, and then select Open. In the Add Patient Information or Modify Patient Information window, enter or update the information as needed. Select the Enterprise Chart checkbox. Select OK. The patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices. Viewing Patient Information and Generating Charts
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can search a patient, add or modify patient information, review patient's existing clinical data, and generate age-based growth charts. If your enterprise is enrolled in Population Health Sync, you can access data from it directly within NextGen® Enterprise EHR as well as from NextGen Population Health Analytics Solutions website. You can view available gaps-in-care and risk score data for a selected patient from the Patient Information bar. APSO (Assessment Plan Subjective and Objective) View is a side panel that slides in and out and enables you to see current and previous information of patients. This side panel generates a document in real time. You can also generate pediatric growth charts, growth charts from NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, and growth charts from the NextGen® Enterprise EHR File menu. Access a Previous Patient in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
As you access charts for different patients, the five most recently accessed patients are stored for your current log on session. You can then easily access a previous patient again. Do one of the following: To access the Patient Lookup window: From the Main toolbar, select the Patient button, and then select a patient. The Patient Lookup window appears. From the File menu, select New, and then Person. The People Lookup window appears. Select the down arrow button to the right of the Find button. Select Access Previous Patient from the menu. The most recently accessed patients, up to five, are listed in the sub-menu. Select the desired patient from the sub-menu. The chart opens for the previous patient. Sort Lookup Results
The default sorting for the lookup results is by Name in ascending order. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following to open the Patient Lookup window: On the main toolbar, select Chart. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. Patient Lookup Window Enter the details in the Search Criteria fields to find the desired person or patient. You can use multiple parameters. For example, you can enter part of the last and first names, and birth date. Note: Fields with the Lightning Bolt indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria. Select Find. All existing person and patient records that match the search criteria appear in Matching Records. To change the sorting order, select any column header. An up arrow icon appears next to the column name, indicating the lookup results are sorted by that column in ascending order. To sort by the same column in descending order, select the column header again. A down arrow icon appears next to the column

Modify Patient Information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Patient icon or select File > Select Patient. The Patient Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria and selectFind. TheMatching Recordslist displays the records that meet the search criteria. Right-click the desired patient and select Open from the menu. The Modify Patient Information window opens displaying the demographic information of the selected patient. Modify the fields as required and selectOKto save the changes.
