Add or Remove Columns in the Lookup Results

In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following to open the Patient Lookup window: On the main toolbar, select Chart. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. Patient Lookup Window Enter the details in the Search Criteria fields to find the desired person or patient. You can use multiple parameters. For example, you can enter part of the last and first names, and birth date. Note: Fields with the Lightning Bolt indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria. Select Find. All existing person and patient records that match the search criteria appear in Matching Records. Right-click any column header. The menu lists all columns available in the Matching Records section. Customizing Lookup Results

Lookup results appear in the Matching Records section on the People Lookup and Patient Lookup windows. You can customize the lookup results. Search for and Sort Patient Records in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the main toolbar, select Patient, enter search criteria in Patient Lookup, and then select Find. Matching people and patient records appear in the search results. Optional: To sort the results in ascending or descending order, select a column header. You can add or remove columns by right-clicking the column header and then selecting or clearing the checkbox. Optional: Select the down arrow next to Find, and then select Turn on Emergency Access or Turn off Emergency Access as needed. Select the correct patient record, and then select Open. Search for a Person or Patient

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. The Patient Lookup window opens. To search for a patient, enter the search criteria data. You can use different combinations of the search criteria to search for a patient. Select Find. People and patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the display in the Matching Records section. NextGen® Enterprise PM displays different icons for persons, patients, and patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. The globe People icon icon indicates people who do not have a chart. The folder Patient icon icon indicates people or patients with a chart. The folder with a small globe People or Patients with an enterprise chart icon indicates people or patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Patient Lookup Window Note: To prevent creation of duplicate records, it is suggested to use a different criteria for performing the patient search if the desired person or patient is not found. Entering Search Criteria for Patient Lookup

You can search for a person or patient on the People Lookup and Patient Lookup windows. You can use multiple parameters for the search criteria. For example, you can enter a part of the last name, first name, and birth date. When you search by name (Last, First, Preferred, Middle, Previous Last, Mother's Maiden Name), you can use an asterisk as a wild card character as follows: *abc: searches for names that start with any letter or letters, followed by abc. Ab*c: searches for names that start with Ab, followed by any letter or letters, followed by c. Abc* searches for names that start with Abc, followed by any letter or letters. Note: Fields with the Lightning bolt indicator for direct match searches indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria.
