Entering Search Criteria for Patient Lookup

You can search for a person or patient on the People Lookup and Patient Lookup windows. You can use multiple parameters for the search criteria. For example, you can enter a part of the last name, first name, and birth date. When you search by name (Last, First, Preferred, Middle, Previous Last, Mother's Maiden Name), you can use an asterisk as a wild card character as follows: *abc: searches for names that start with any letter or letters, followed by abc. Ab*c: searches for names that start with Ab, followed by any letter or letters, followed by c. Abc* searches for names that start with Abc, followed by any letter or letters. Note: Fields with the Lightning bolt indicator for direct match searches indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria. Sort Lookup Results

The default sorting for the lookup results is by Name in ascending order. In NextGen® Enterprise PM, do one of the following to open the Patient Lookup window: On the main toolbar, select Chart. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. Patient Lookup Window Enter the details in the Search Criteria fields to find the desired person or patient. You can use multiple parameters. For example, you can enter part of the last and first names, and birth date. Note: Fields with the Lightning Bolt indicator are for direct match searches and cannot be used with other search criteria. Select Find. All existing person and patient records that match the search criteria appear in Matching Records. To change the sorting order, select any column header. An up arrow icon appears next to the column name, indicating the lookup results are sorted by that column in ascending order. Add or Remove Columns in the Lookup Results

Matching Records for Patient or People Lookup

When you enter your search criteria on the Patient Lookup or People Lookup window and select Find, records of people and patients that match appear in the Matching Records section. You can scroll right or left to view more information for each person or patient. From the matching records section of the window, you can do the following: Use the Patient icon to open the Patient Chart for the desired Patient. Use Person Icon to open the Add Patient Information window for the desired Person. Use the right-click option for a patient or person to view all the available actions. Modify Person Information in NextGen® Enterprise PM

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select the Lookup icon on the toolbar. The People Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria and selectFind. TheMatching Recordslist displays the records that meet the search criteria. Double-click the desired person. TheUpdate Person Informationwindow opens displaying the demographic information of the selected person. Modify the fields as required and selectOKto save the changes. Modify addresses for Persons or Patients

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Lookup or People Lookup People Lookup icon. The People Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the person's information, and then select Find. Person records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the person, and then select Open. When you select a person, the Modify Person Information window opens. When you select a patient, the Update Patient Information window opens. Under the Address section, make the desired changes. Note: NextGen® Enterprise PM updates the address for all relationships except the following: Child-Insured Not Responsible Emancipated Minor Employee Injured Plaintiff Organ Donor Other Self Sibling Unknown Ward Address field is blank Select OK.
