From the main toolbar in
NextGen® Enterprise PM

Lookup
.
In the
Patient Lookup
window, do one of the following:.
For a new patient, select
New
.
For an existing patient, search for and select the patient record, select the open menu
icon, and then select
Open
.
In the
Add Patient Information
or
Modify Patient Information
window, enter or update the information as needed.
Select the
Enterprise Chart
checkbox.
Select
OK
.
The patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart.

For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices.

Automatically Enroll Patients in Enterprise Chart
Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. Select Admin > Preferences > Enterprise Preferences. In the Enterprise Preferences window, select the General tab. Select the Enterprise chart checkbox. A confirmation message appears. Select Yes. Note: Existing patients are automatically enrolled in Enterprise Chart when you turn it on. An application message appears, with the option to enroll patients by default. Select Yes to enroll all new patients in the future, or select No to decline automatic patient enrollment. You can enroll individual patients from the Add Patient Information window when you set up new patient records. You can also enroll patients individually from the Modify Patient Information window. Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart from the Add Patient Information Window
You can enroll a new patient in Enterprise Chart manually. This option is available on the Add Patient Information window in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management applications. Open the Patient Lookup window. Select the New button. The Demographics tab of the Add Patient Information window appears. Enter all required information. Select the Enterprise Chart check box. Select OK. The patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices. If you did not enroll a new patient in Enterprise Chart from the Add Patient Information window, you can enroll the patient manually from the Modify Patient Information window. This option is available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management applications. Access the Patient Lookup window. Perform a search for the applicable patient. Select the patient. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button, and select Open. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the File menu, select Modify Patient. The Demographics tab of the Modify Patient Information window appears. Select the Enterprise Chart check box. Select OK. The existing patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices. Enterprise Chart Patients
If a patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you can view the patient's clinical data across all practices within your enterprise. To view patient data in Enterprise Chart, patients must be enrolled in it. When you enable Enterprise Chart, all existing patients are automatically enrolled. You also have the option to enroll all new patients by default going forward. If you do not select this option when you enable Enterprise Chart, you can later enroll patients individually. If you need to enroll all patients at one time after Enterprise Chart is on, contact NextGen Healthcare Client Support for assistance. Open the Patient Information Bar in the Patient Chart
Before you begin You must set the Practice and user preferences, to enable the Patient Information Bar in the patient chart. For more information on the patient chart, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Accounts and Patient Records User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the main toolbar, select Chart. The Patient Lookup window opens. Search for and select the patient using the available search criteria. The patient chart opens displaying the Patient Information Bar, where you can exclusively select Patient Chart Lookup and Open Menu to search for patients, set an active patient, and manage the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment.
