Save a Medical Records Template Chart to an Encounter

You can save a Medical Records template graph or a growth chart to the patient encounter on the Encounters tab. After it is saved, you can open it and select options to print, fax, annotate, or export it, or add a signature.

If the patient is enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, you can export the saved graph to the patient NextGen® PxP Portal account for easy retrieval by the patient, parent, or guardian. You can also view NextGen® PxP Portal document export and receipt history for a graph.

  1. Open the patient to save the graph for to an encounter.
  2. Generate a Medical Records template or growth chart.
  3. Right-click the graph or growth chart (shown in example below), and select Save to Chart.

    The graph is saved under the selected encounter on the Encounters tab and is visible when you expand the encounter.
