Prohibit a Renewal Request for New Rx Transactions

You can recommend a pharmacy to not send renewal requests for specific medications. You can use the Prohibit Renewal Request check box under Additional Prescription Detail to prohibit the renewal request.
  1. Open Medications module.
  2. Select Prescribe New.
    The Medication Search window opens.

  3. Search for and select the medication.
  4. Select and enter information in the following fields:
    • Quantity
    • Duration
    • Refills
    • Problem
    • Dispense As Written
  5. Select Additional Prescription Detail.
    The Additional Prescription Detail pane opens.

  6. Select the Prohibit Renewal Request check box.
  7. To prescribe the medication, select Accept and then select Send.
    The Send Prescription window opens.

  8. Select Destination.
    The Pharmacy Search window opens.
  9. Search for and select a pharmacy and then select Send .
  10. Right-click the medication grid and select Dispense History for the medication.
    The Dispense Audit Information window opens.

  11. Select Details.
    The New Rx Details window opens.

  12. Select Medication.

    Prohibit Renewals displays one of the following values based on your Prohibit Renewal Request check box input under Additional Prescription Detail.
    • Yes indicates that the provider prohibits renewal request for that specific medication. 
    • No indicates that the provider does not prohibit renewal request for that specific medication. 
    • Remains blank for Rx Change as the values are not currently supported for this transaction.
