Deny an RxChange Request from the Workflow Module

You can deny an RxChange request task from the Workflow module. When you deny an RxChange request task, NextGen® Enterprise EHR sends a notification to the pharmacy stating the reason for denial. The reason for denial depends on the RxChange request type. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and open the Workflow module. Select the Clinical Tasking tab and select an RxChange request from the task list. The RxChange request details and patient information appears. Select Deny. The reasons for denial appear. eRx DCustom Denial Reasons Note: The reasons for denial may differ depending on the RxChange request type. If you configure custom denial reasons, NextGen® Enterprise EHR includes eRx custom denial reasons in the denial reasons list. Prescribe Replacement Medications When Renewals Are Denied

When a DNTF (Denied New To Follow) task gets created in the Inbox the provider must resolve the DNTF task by prescribing a replacement medication using the Medications module. The replacement medication must be sent back to the pharmacy that had sent the initial renewal request . Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Open Medications module. Select Prescribe New. Search for and select a replacement medication. Select and enter the following information: Quantity Duration Refills Problem Dispense As Written Enter a note for the replaced medication in the Non-Clinical Notes to Pharmacy. Select Accept and Send.The Send Prescription window opens. On the Send Prescription window, select the Resolved Denied Refills link. The Deny New To Follow window opens. Select the medication and select Replace. Destination is updated with the pharmacy that sent the initial renewal request and the Alerts section displays new messages. Select Send. Note: An applicat

Medication Management

The Medical Management call type concerns communications that involve the status of a patient's current and inactive medications. Select the New Call button and select Medical Management from the Call Type list. The Panels and Panel Items opens. Select the Call Information and Contact Information panel items from the panels. Select Pharmacy. The Pharmacy option appears. If a patient has pharmacy information stored in NextGen® Enterprise, the information displays automatically. Select a Preferred Pharmacy for the patient or select Search. The Pharmacy Search window opens. Pharmacy Search Search for a stored pharmacy in your system and select OK to add it to the Preferred Pharmacy list. If you need to add a new pharmacy's information to your system, you can do so from Add Pharmacy to System. Select Medication(s). The Medication(s) option appears. Resolve Denied eRx Refill Request

When you receive an eRx refill request and deny the request with the reason as Denial – New Prescription to follow, the Resolve Denied Refills link appears on the Send Prescription window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient and open Medications module. Select a medication where the eRx refill request was denied with the Denial - New Prescription to follow reason. Select View Denied Refills. The Deny New To Follow window opens. Deny New To Follow Select Details to open and view the Refill Request Details window. Select Close. To remove the denied refill from the list, select Remove. The Remove medication from queue window opens stating the confirmation message. Do one of the following: To remove the medication from the list, select Yes. To return to the Deny New to Follow window without removing the medication, select No. Select Close. Select Medication from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Select to prompt the Medication Search window. Medication Search Select the type of search: DEA Class, Class or Name. Enter the search criteria. Select whether to include Generics and/or Retired medications. Clear the Active Medication check box if you wish to include all available medications. Select Search. Deny an eRx Refill Request from the Manage Refills Window

You can deny an eRx refill request task from the Manage Refills window in the Medications module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. To view the Medications module for the patient, select Medications from the Quick Buttons panel. If NextGen® Enterprise EHR detects a new eRx refill request for the patient, the Manage Refills window opens, where you can view the refill requests details of the patient. To view the details of the refill request, select the refill request and select Details. The Refill Response Details window opens. To select a denial reason for the refill request, do one of the following: Select Deny Refill and select a reason from the list. Right-click the request, select Deny Refill, and then select a reason from the list.
