Verify the VIS History and Print VIS Document
If the Immunizations is successfully completed (system displays the Administered status), verify the VIS history and print the VIS documents:
Review the VIS information in the VIS
History
section.
To open a VIS document, select
Open VIS
.
To print or give the VIS to a patient, select
Print/Give VIS
.
Tip:
This option prints the VIS document for the selected Immunizations Orders only.
Select the appropriate Save option to complete the Immunizations administration process:
Save & Task
Saves changes and sends to the appropriate user (including the user saving the order, if indicated) or Group.
Save & Print
Saves changes and prints the VIS documents.
Save
Saves changes and sends Immunizations data to the appropriate Registry.

Display the Vaccine Details and Provide the Immunizations Information
After selecting the vaccines on the Select Vaccines tab, select the Vaccine Details tab. The Create New/Update Immunizations Order for <patient name> window opens (on the Vaccine Details tab). To administer the immunization, select the vaccine from the vaccine list. Select a Registry from the list, if necessary. Select the Lot Number from the list or enter it manually, if necessary. The vaccine data defaults from the Vaccine Inventory, including the NDC ID if it exists. Enter any other information for the selected Immunizations order, for example, if the patient received counseling, (Counseled) or if the Immunizations order requires Consent. If you have provided Immunizations information, the system updates the status to Administered and required fields display as Red. The system also displays the Billing Code and Admin Code for the selected vaccines. Once the Immunizations are selected on the Select Vaccines tab, you can administer them to the patient. Access a Patient's Given VIS Documents after Administering an Immunization
After administering an immunization to a patient, if you have generated a VIS document to a patient, the document can be viewed in the Categories tab. To view the documents by category, set up the default VIS category in File Maintenance > Practices > Orders > Immunizations. Select an Immunizations Order from the Orders Summary tab. To display the VIS documents for the selected patient, select the Categories tab, and select Tree View from the list. Select the VIS category and expand to view the associated VIS documents. Note: If you have set up VIS as a default category, the VIS documents that you have given to a patient appear when you select that category. Select and double-click a document to view. Print the Immunizations Summary Report
You can print information about all the immunizations a patient has received. You can print this report from the Immunizations tab. Note: The Immunizations Summary report appears in the format you selected when setting up the report (original format, CDC standard format, or Immunizations Detail format). Select Print on the Immunizations tab toolbar. Note: If you want to view the report before it prints, select the arrow next to the Print button and then select Print Preview. Select the printer where you want the report to print. When you print this report, the report is saved to the patient's chart within the associated encounter, and you can access the report from the Encounter History tab.
