Signee or Delegate Signoff Actions

If you are the designated provider signee or the provider's delegate, you can review and sign off or reject a multi-user document from the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). As a provider signee, you can also sign off the document from the Encounter History or Categories tab. Performing Encounter Provider or Delegate Signoff Actions

As the encounter provider or the provider's delegate, you can perform the following actions: Initiate or restart multi-user signoff on a pending Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) document. Add or remove signees after a multi-user document is rejected by a signee. Review a document that was rejected by a signee or regenerated by any user, and determine the appropriate action to take. Viewing Electronic Signatures on a Multi-User Signoff Document

You can view the electronic signature of each signee at the bottom of the document when you open it from the Encounter History or Categories tab or in the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). The electronic signature includes the provider's name, credentials, and signoff status, and the date and time stamp.If a delegate signs off the document, the signature indicates the provider it was signed off on behalf of. The electronic signatures are removed from the document when a signee rejects the document. The first example shows that the encounter provider and one signee have electronically signed the document. The signature is pending for the other signee. The second example shows that a delegate has signed the document on behalf of the signee whose signature was pending in the first example. View Properties for a Multi-user Signoff Document

You can view document and encounter information, file properties, including Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) status, and user permissions for a selected patient document. The multi-user signoff document is read only and cannot be edited. In the Encounter History or Categories tab, open the patient encounter that contains the document. Do one of the following: Right-click the document, and select Properties. Select the document to display it in a tab in the main window. Then select the Document Information button at the top right of the Document bar. The Document Information window opens. In this example for a multi-user signoff document, the PAQ Status shows Pending, Editing shows Not Allowed, and the Read-Only Flags pane shows PAQ Multi-sign. Select Close. PAQ Document Signoff by Multiple Providers

Multiple providers on a patient care team can sign off the same document sent by the encounter provider to each designated signee's Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Pending PAQ tab in the Workflow module. Only the encounter provider or the provider's delegate can initiate multi-user signoff and select additional signees. The multi-user signoff document is read only and remains in Pending status until all the designated signees or their delegates have signed it. If a document is rejected or regenerated by any signee, all existing signatures are erased, and the document is returned to the Pending PAQ of the encounter provider for review and further action. The encounter provider can restart multi-user signoff for the document and select the previous or new signees. Note: At this time, multi-user signoff is only available for PAQ documents. View the Document Status Indicator

For patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, you can view the document status in the Encounter History or Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Top Toolbar, select Patient.The Patient Lookup window opens. Select a patient who is enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal.A list of the patient's encounters appear in the Encounter History. In the Encounter History, locate the patient encounter that contains the patient document.The status indicator appears to the left of the document. A flag icon indicates the document is in pending status and was not signed off by all signees. An X icon indicates the document is in rejected status because it was rejected by the encounter provider. A check mark icon indicates the document is in accepted status and has been signed off by all signees. Sent to NextGen® PxP Portal icon appears next to the document icon in Encounter History or Categories tab once the document is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal.
