Configure Medication Verification
You can enable or disable medication verification. If you enable medication verification, you are prompted to enter your password when you fax, print, or ePrescribe a medication even if the medication is not a controlled substance. Medication Verification In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the Main menu, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences window opens. Select the Medications tab. Do one of the following: To enable medication verification, select Use Medication Verification. To disable medication verification, clear Use Medication Verification. Add Rx Note
The Medications module enables you to add, view, modify, and delete notes related to a medication. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medications module. Select a medication. Select the Add Note link. The Medication Note window opens. Select a type of note. Medication Note Enter the details for your note. Medication Note text Select OK. Document Medications
You can document the medications to prescribe to a patient using the Medications module. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Intake template. In the Medications panel, select Add/Update. The Medications module opens. Select Prescribe New. The Medication Search template opens. Search for and select a medicine from the list. Enter the Sig, Quantity, Refills, and Start date details. Select the Prescribed elsewhere check box, if applicable. Select Accept. Close the Medications module. Note: If applicable, you can select the Comment link to open the Medication Comment template. You must not use the Medication Comment template to list medications the patient is consuming. You can use the Medication Comment template as a temporary location to list all the unknown medications the patient is consuming along with the dosage and sig details. Submit Patient's Medication History Consent
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. Open Medications module. Do one of the following: Select Medication History. From the Main menu, select Tools > Medication History Consent. If the patient has not given consent, the Medication History Consent window opens. Medication History Consent Select one of the following patient's consent response: Has not been requested Yes No Expired Withdrawn Select an expiry date or time period. Open the Medication Review Template
You can access the Medication Review template to review the medication. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Intake template, expand the Medications panel. To open the Medication Review template, select Reconcile. Review Medications Manually You can manually review the medications details that are taken by a patient for adherence to the prescribed medicines. Update the Adherence of a Medication You can modify a patient's adherence to medication.
