Task Recipient Actions

You can perform following actions: Accept, reject, reply to, reassign, complete, remove, or restore a task. Respond to a PAQ action task. Attach a NextGen Document Management image to a task. Open a patient's chart or the Orders module from the task list. Accept, reject, approve, or deny Electronic Prescribing (eRx) refill requests and resolve unmatched requests. Accept and manage action required or approved Electronic Prior Authorization (ePA) tasks. Receive notifications for completed orders and Carequality/Surescripts patient information requests. Accept a Task Procedure to accept a task by task recipients. Reject a Task Procedure to reject a task by task recipients. Reply to Tasks Procedure to reply a task by task recipients. Reassign a Task Procedure to reassign incomplete or rejected tasks. Complete a Task Procedure to complete a task in clinical tasking. Update a Task

If a task is not accepted or completed by its recipients, you can update a task you created. Select a task you have created. Select Update in the toolbar. The task details opens. Change any of the items following the instructions under Create a NextGen Enterprise EHR Task or Create a NextGen Enterprise PM Task. Do one of the following: To cancel the changes, select Undo Changes. To save your changes, select Commit Changes. Your changes are saved and updated for the recipients of the task. Create a NextGen® Enterprise EHR Task

You can create a NextGen® Enterprise EHR task and send it to one or more selected users or workgroups. You can associate the task with a specific patient and attach any of the following items to it: Template NextGen® Enterprise EHR document or image NextGen® Document Management image SAP® Crystal Report® Equipment report Patient Education document HIE document or document view From the New list on the Clinical Tasking tab toolbar, select EHR Task. A blank task template opens on the Workflow window. The template shows your name as the sender, today's date as the sent date, Pending as the status, today as the default due date, and Normal as the priority level. Enter the subject in the box at the top. To add the recipient, select To:. Note: If you leave To: blank while sending the task, a confirmation message appears to assign the task to yourself. Create a NextGen® Enterprise PM Task

You can create a task for NextGen® Enterprise PM related to a chart, user, or encounter. You can send the task to one or more selected users or workgroups. Recipients can view tasks assigned to them from the Worklog Manager window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Practice Workflow User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise PM. From the New list on the Clinical Tasking tab toolbar, select PM Task. The New PM Task window opens, showing the default source and task types, today as the default due date,and Normal as the priority level. From the Source Type list, select Chart (default), Encounter, or User. If you select Encounter, you must also select a patient and attach an encounter. The default task type for the selected source type is automatically filled in. The Chart source type has two task type options. Creating Tasks for NextGen® Enterprise

You can generate tasks to be sent to users in NextGen® Enterprise from within NextGen® Enterprise PM in the following areas: Patient Chart > Encounters tab: Right-click an encounter and select EHR Tasks from the menu. Patient Chart > Clinical History/Notes tab > Tasks topic: Right-click and select New EHR Tasks from the menu. Encounter Lookup: Right-click an encounter and select EHR Tasks from the menu. Tasks menu > Create EHR Task After the new task is sent to NextGen® Enterprise, it no longer displays in NextGen® Enterprise PM. The tasks can be viewed only within NextGen® Enterprise. Clinical Tasking

A patient's Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to clinical tasks. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same patient tasks as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient Name, Subject, and Description columns.
