You can open the NextGen® PxP Portal message window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR Workflow module. Open the Workflow module. The Workflow window opens. Select the Patient Portal tab. Note: The Patient Portal tab does not appear if the NextGen® PxP Portal license has expired. The Patient Portal inbox opens. Select the user list, and then select the provider or user that you are a delegate for. The Patient Portal inbox opens for the selected provider or user. To see all communication sent and received through the NextGen® PxP Portal in one view for the selected patient, select the Patient-Specific View toggle. NextGen® PxP Portal NextGen® PxP Portal The NextGen® PxP Portal messages window opens in the Patient Portal tab in the Workflow module. Note: The Patient Portal tab does not appear if the NextGen® PxP Portal license has expired. This window provides the following message categories to manage correspondence of patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Communications. Enables you to view, send, draft (save unsent messages), and respond to patient's messages. Prescriptions. Enables you to view and respond to patient's prescription requests. Appointments. Enables you to view and respond to patient's appointment requests. Online Forms. Enables you to review and import patient's completed online forms. You can also add these items to a patient’s chart. To view all communication sent and received through NextGen® PxP Portal in one view for the selected patient, you can select the Patient-Specific toggle. You can set up the preferences for the PAQ items to refresh when required. From the Provider Approval Queue menu, select Preferences. The PAQ Preferences window opens, with the General tab in view. In the Refresh Items section, do one of the following: To refresh the items on the PAQ tab when it is open, select On Window/Tab Open. This option refreshes the PAQ when the PAQ tab is the current tab when you open the Workflow Module window or the tab you select after the window is open. This option is not intended to refresh more than one tab simultaneously. To set a timer for refreshing the PAQ when the Workflow Module window is open, select Every X Minute(s). Then select the up or down arrow to enter the refresh interval in minutes. Use integers only. Note: You cannot enter a number lower than the value entered in the Provider Approval Queue Universal Preference for the Minimum Refresh Rate for PAQ. The following lists all the Workflow Universal Preferences. Preference Description Email DSN Sets up the Data Source Name used for storage if Replication is selected. Use FTP Determines if FTP is used to store image files. If your practice uses FTP to store information, set theUse FTPvalue toTrue, and then set the following usage specifications: FTP Server– Use if data is stored on an FTP server instead of a regular server. FTP User Id– Enter the user ID used to access the FTP server. FTP Password– Enter the password used to access the FTP server. If you are not using FTP, set theUse FTPvalue toFalseand disregard the remaining FTP-related Universal Preferences. Generate Read Receipt Set the preference to True to automatically generate a read receipt for the selected user when sending Patient Portal messages from either NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM. The Workflow module provides the functionality for: Clinical tasking Set up clinical tasking preferences. View, accept, decline, reject, complete, create, update, reply to, assign or reassign, remove or restore tasks. Respond to refill requests that ePrescribing (eRX) generates. Accept and manage electronic prior authorizations (ePAs). Set up workflow delegates and out-of-the-office status. Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Set up PAQ preferences and custom rules. Accept, sign off, reject, reassign, or task PAQ items. Send documents to NextGen® PxP Portal. Link NextGen® Document Management images to an open order. Add a patient to a recall list. If the Patient Portal trigger action is Schedule Messages, you can schedule a message for future delivery to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. This feature is available only when you compose a message or send a draft. Scheduled messages are stored in the Patient Portal > Communications > Scheduled folder in the Workflow module. Note: If chart messages are saved to a file location, the user account that runs the NextGen® Queue Processing Service needs to have write access to that file location. For more information on delayed message scheduling, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® PxP Portal Provider Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Ask your system administrator which NextGen® Enterprise EHR template and field to use. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the template that contains the Patient Portal trigger, and then select OK to open it. Execute the Patient Portal trigger on the applicable field.
