Set Up NextGen® PxP Portal Refresh Rate Preferences

You can set up the refresh rate preference for the Patient Portal tab. From the Patient Portal menu, select Preferences. The Patient Portal Preferences window opens. On Patient Portal Preferences window, select one of the following: To refresh the unread messages when the Patient Portal tab is open, select On Window/Tab Open. This option refreshes the messages when the Patient Portal tab is the current tab when you open the Workflow Module window or the tab you select after the window is open. Note: This option is not intended to refresh more than one tab simultaneously. To refresh more than one tab simultaneously, use the timer preference. To refresh the unread messages after the specified time, select Every X Minute(s). This option refresh the unread messages whenever the Workflow Module window opens. NextGen® PxP Portal NextGen® PxP Portal The NextGen® PxP Portal messages window opens in the Patient Portal tab in the Workflow module. Note: The Patient Portal tab does not appear if the NextGen® PxP Portal license has expired. This window provides the following message categories to manage correspondence of patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Communications. Enables you to view, send, draft (save unsent messages), and respond to patient's messages. Prescriptions. Enables you to view and respond to patient's prescription requests. Appointments. Enables you to view and respond to patient's appointment requests. Online Forms. Enables you to review and import patient's completed online forms. You can also add these items to a patient’s chart. Viewing Patient Portal Enrollment Status

You can view the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status on the Add Person Information and Add Patient Information windows in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM if the practice uses NextGen® PxP Portal. You can select the NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status icon to open the Patient Portal Enrollment window. NextGen® PxP Portal Document Export

You can export a patient document from the patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to the patient NextGen® PxP Portal account. You can export the patient document from the Encounter History or the Categories tab. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to export documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account in a number of other ways: From the File menu, you can select Export Patient Documents, or can select Patient Portal > Documents > Send EHR Document. Enroll a Patient in NextGen® PxP Portal

Before you begin Ensure that the patient portal must setup in File Maintenance and has a valid NextGen® PxP Portal license for your practice. If the patient is not enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal, you can send an enrollment invitation email through NextGen® Enterprise EHR. For more information on NextGen® PxP Portal, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen®PxP Portal Provider Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. To invite the patient for NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment, do one of the following: On the Patient Information Card (PIC), select Enroll Now next to the Not enrolled in Patient Portal indicator. Set up Patient Portal Trigger

The Patient Portal action launches windows at run time that enable you to: Set up an account for a patient on the NextGen® PxP Portal website. Schedule the future delivery of a message to a patient enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. After a message has been scheduled, you can review and edit or delete it, if necessary. NextGen® PxP Portal is a secure Internet portal that enables patients to communicate with providers, request appointments, request prescription refills, review test results, complete online forms, view documents and statements, and access health reference information.
