View HIE Document Validation and PAQ Status

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can view the Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents CDA validation and PAQ status details on the Categories tab. Note: By default, Rosetta performs CDA validation automatically when an HIE document is imported or exported. If you want to disable or enable CDA validation, contact NextGen Healthcare support. Additionally, you can configure the CDA Viewer to perform HIE document validation in EHR. To configure the CDA viewer, you must use the General > Enable Automatic CDA Validation option on the CDA Viewer Configuration window. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. Select HIE Documents category. Excluding Selected Messages from the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ)

Some items that appear in the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) may not need any action from the provider. An example is the metadata items that are sent by certain hospitals. To save providers from reviewing such items, an administrator can create rules allowing selected types of messages to bypass the PAQ. Using the Interoperability Rules Engine, an administrator can exclude messages from the PAQ based on the message format (CDA or HL7), source, document format, or document description. If a rule allows an item to bypass the PAQ, the item still appears in the patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If you do not want an item to bypass the PAQ, you can hover over an item, and select Document Options button, on the Categories tab, and then select Send to Provider Approval Queue to send the item to the PAQ manually. The following icons in the Encounter History and Categories tabs provide a quick visual reference to indicate the status and type of an encounter or case and documents. Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application. As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module. Note: A patient Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to PAQ items. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same PAQ items as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient and Description columns. Signoff Patient Document

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR you can sign off (accept) each patient document. If the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) is enabled, you can sign off the document either in the PAQ or directly in the Documents module. When a document is accepted in one location, it is automatically listed as accepted in the other location. If the PAQ is not enabled, you can only sign off the documents in the Documents module. NextGen® HIE Documents

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR Categories tab, you can view the imported, and exported Health Information Exchange (HIE) document categories in the My Categories tab based on user-level configuration. To view a specific HIE document, you can expand the appropriate HIE document category, and select the required item. The following are HIE document categories. HIE Documents, displays only imported HIE documents. HIE Documents (Sent), displays only exported HIE documents. HIE Consent, displays only HIE consent documents. The following CDA validation icons appear with the HIE documents. The icon indicates that a document passed CDA validation. The icon indicates that a document did not pass CDA validation. If neither icon appears indicates that a document is not yet validated. The following PAQ status icons appear with the HIE documents. The icon indicates the PAQ pending item.
