Workflow Module and PAQ Setup

To set up rights and permissions for the Workflow module and the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) tab, you must enable the PAQ in System Administrator and set the user Operations rights. PAQ Setup PAQ Workflow module enables you an easy sign-off capability for documents, images and others to review, accept, reject or create. Send Bypassed C-CDA and HL7 Documents to the Provider Approval Queue

The Interoperability Rules Engine enables you to create rules that exclude selected types of C-CDA or HL7 documents from the PAQ. If you decide that a sign-off is needed for a document that bypassed the PAQ, you can manually send the document to the PAQ in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open a patient chart. Select the Categories tab. To view a bypassed document, do one of the following: Select List View from the list. Select Tree View from the list. To expand all categories; select a category, select Category Options , and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select . Select a C-CDA, or HL7 bypassed document, and select document options . The document options appear. Note: The bypassed C-CDA, or HL7 documents does not have any PAQ icons. If the document is sent to PAQ, the document options does not display the Send to Provider Approval Queue option. Select Send to Provider Approval Queue. A message appears confirming the action. Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application. As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module. Note: A patient Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to PAQ items. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same PAQ items as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient and Description columns. Reject a PAQ Item

You can reject items sent for provider approval. Open the Workflow module. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab. In the Pending tab, select an item from the list. A preview of the item is displayed in the viewing pane. If a comment was not previously entered, you must enter one. Nextgen Healthcare recommends to provide a reason on rejecting any item. Select Reject in the Workflow toolbar. The item is moved from the list of pending PAQ items to the list of items in the Rejected tab.You can reassign, task, or accept the rejected item from the Rejected tab. Parent topic: PAQ Items

For items in the PAQ, you can perform: View items not ready for sign-off. Accept an item and sign-off on it with or without actions. Assign other users to sign off the document. Add comments. Reject an item. Reassign an item. Create a task for an item. Send documents to NextGen® PxP Portal. Place the patient on a recall list that is automatically sent to NextGen® Enterprise PM. Mark PAQ items as Read or Unread in the Pending tab

In the PAQ tab of the Pending tab, you can mark the PAQ items as read or unread. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. On Top Toolbar, select Inbox to open the Workflow module. Select the Provider Approval Queue tab.In the Pending tab, the unread items appears in bold format. To mark the item as read or unread, do the following: To mark an item as read, select the item. To mark the item as unread, right-click the item and then select Mark as Unread. Note: You can mark a PAQ item as unread only after you upgrade NextGen® Enterprise EHR to the latest version. Only the PAQ items present in the Pending tab appear in bold. When you move a PAQ item from the Pending tab to the Rejected or History tab, the PAQ item does not appear in bold format. Parent topic: PAQ Tabs
