Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application.

As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module.

For more information on Inclusion and Exclusion List viewing restrictions, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the following documents.
  • System Administrator Guide forNextGen®Enterprise
  • Patient Demographics Guide forNextGen®Enterprise
  • Orders Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR

The number of items in the PAQ appears in parentheses on the Provider Approval Queue tab. An exclamation point indicates new content was received since the last time it was viewed.

The name of the provider whose PAQ items are displayed appears at the upper right of the window. To change the provider, select the down arrow, and then select an available provider from the list.

The PAQ enables you to sign off on orders, NextGen® Enterprise EHR documents, images, NextGen Document Management images, SAP Crystal Reports, template notes, and HIE documents. A NextGen Document Management image can be displayed regardless of whether it has an encounter ID assigned to it.

The PAQ enables you to generate a document on an unlocked or locked encounter. On a locked encounter, you can generate any document offline and save it as an addendum.

When a patient information request is completed through the Carequality/Surescripts National Record Locator Service (NRLS), imported documents may be routed into the PAQ of the requester. For a scheduled request based on future appointments in NextGen® Enterprise PM, documents are added to the PAQ of the provider assigned to the appointments. For manual requests, documents are added to the PAQ of the active provider in the Top toolbar.

You need to only enter a user name and password once, and then select one of the available items to review, accept, or reject, or create a new task associated with the item.

The PAQ Demographics section includes the following information, similar to the Patient Information bar:

  • Patient name: pointing to the patient name displays the contact information.
  • Patient date of birth (DOB), age, and gender.
  • NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status icon.
  • Module buttons: Alerts, Appointments, Allergies, Problems (Probl), Diagnoses (Dx), and Medications (Meds).
  • A blue Lab Results (Labs) link, if lab results are available.

The button and link labels are automatically abbreviated at lower screen resolutions (such as 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 720 or 1024) or when you resize the main NextGen® Enterprise EHR window to less than full size.

The right pane shows details for the selected item.
