Managing Order Details

When you select an order item, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) displays the order details in the following tabs based on the order type. All Laboratory Diagnostic Immunization In the All tab, CPOE displays a consolidated summary of all your selected order items, grouped by the order type and selected performing entities. In the Laboratory, Diagnostic, and Immunization tabs, CPOE displays the details of the respective order items. You can review and modify the details of your order items before placing your order. Note: CPOE saves your selected order items in the Incomplete Items list until you place the order. Manage General Order Details You can view and modify sections of the order that are common for all your selected order items. Add Comments to a New Order

Select the Tracking tab on the Create New ( Lab or Radiology) Order window. The Tracking window opens for the lab or radiology order. Select Add. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Select Tracking as the comment Type. Enter a comment regarding the order. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Using the Orders Summary Tab

The Orders Summary tab provides order information in the following panels: Orders panel. View, update, and track existing orders and create orders for the current patient. Results panel. View test results from an interface or manually enter test results and related documents for the current patient. This panel is collapsed when you open the Orders Summary tab, but you can expand it to view its contents. Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. View and add order tracking or sign-off comments. Add Orders Summary Filter Descriptions for Lab and Radiology Tests

To open the Set Orders Summary Filters window if it is closed, do one of the following: On the Filters bar in the Orders panel of the Orders Summary tab, select the filter you created and applied or saved, and then select Manage Filters. On the Filters bar in your custom Practice template with an Orders Management order control, select the filter you created and applied or saved, and then select Manage Filters. On the Set Orders Summary Filters window, select the Data 3 tab. Do the following in the Enter test description to filter section: To add a test description, enter the description in the first text box, and select Add Test. The test description appears in the second text box. To update the test description, select it, and then select Update Test. Edit the description. To delete the test description, select it, and then select Delete Test. To filter tests by the exact test description, select the Match exact names only check box. Lab and Radiology Test Filter Descriptions

For lab and radiology test orders, you can set up test description filters on the Data 3 tab of the Set Orders Summary Filters window. This filter is not applicable for immunization orders. You can select a Match exact names only option to only show tests that match the exact description you enter. If you do not select this option, you can view tests with a partial match to the description you enter. For example, if you enter Cholesterol as the description without selecting an exact name match, this filter would display different types of cholesterol tests such as HDL Cholesterol; Cholesterol, Total; and LDL Cholesterol (Direct). If you select an exact name match, only tests with the description of Cholesterol would appear. If no tests with this exact description are found, nothing is shown. This filter shows tests with the matching partial or exact description for an individual patient on the Orders Summary grid. If you view patients across the practice using the Orders Management ord
