RxChange Response Types

The current RxChange response types are updated with the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) SCRIPT 2017071 Standards. The providers can continue using the RxChange transaction and remain compliant with NCPDP standards.

The RxChange response types are:
RxChange Response TypeDescription
ApprovedAccepts the pharmacy's request. The original medication becomes inactive and a new medication entry is created.
Approved with ChangesEnables the provider to make changes to the pharmacy's request before responding. The original medication becomes inactive and a new medication entry is created.
DenyDoes not make any changes to either the original medication or the patient's records.
ValidatedEnables the provider to select Approve and send a Validated response. This response is applicable only to the Prescriber Authorization request.
DeniedEnables the provider to select Deny and send a Denial response and select a reason for denial. This response is applicable only to the Prescriber Authorization request.
