Reconcile Clinical Data

The Import tab enables you to review clinical data stored in a patient's chart and reconcile the data with contents of an imported document or of a patient medication history file.

  1. Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Data Share module, or the Medical Summary Utility and then select a document.
  2. Select the Import tab. For an overview of the screen layout, refer to Layout of the Import Tab.
  3. Under the Import tab, there is a second set of clinical data tabs. The reconcile a particular type of clinical data, select the corresponding tab, such as Medications, Meds Administered, and so on.
    If you opened Clinical Reconciliation from a specific module, such as Medications or Problems, then Clinical Reconciliation displays only the tab corresponding to that module.

    You can use the scroll button to scroll to the tab you want.

  4. Before reconciling items on the Implantable Devices tab, reconcile all items on the Procedures tab. By reconciling items in this order, you maintain the linkage between implantable devices and their procedures.
  5. For the Medications tab and the Meds Administered tab, you can optionally do one of the following:
    • Select a person from the Reconciliation Completed With list who was present during the reconciliation process (self, mother, father, and so on).
    • Enter your own value.
    • Combine both.
    Information in the Reconciliation Completed With list is only retained for the session; however it is stored in the medication_reconcile_ table.
  6. Process items in the Import section and then in the EHR section (if available).
