Process Items in the Import Section

The Import section displays the clinical data available for import based on the Import tab selected (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). For each item listed you can choose to perform an action. All items in the Import section have a default action of Add if they do not exist or match to an item in the patient’s chart. If the Clinical Reconciliation module determines that an item in both the EHR and Import sections match, it sets the Import action to Ignore automatically. Select the type of clinical data you want to reconcile. Select the item you want to reconcile. Items to Reconcile To view additional clinical information, slide the scroll bar at the bottom of the Import section right. Select a column header to sort data in ascending/descending order. Reconcile Clinical Data

The Import tab enables you to review clinical data stored in a patient's chart and reconcile the data with contents of an imported document or of a patient medication history file. Note: The following procedure shows the basic steps for performing reconciliation. Detailed procedures appear later in this section. Open the Clinical Reconciliation module from NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Data Share module, or the Medical Summary Utility and then select a document. Select the Import tab. For an overview of the screen layout, refer to Layout of the Import Tab. Under the Import tab, there is a second set of clinical data tabs. The reconcile a particular type of clinical data, select the corresponding tab, such as Medications, Meds Administered, and so on. If you opened Clinical Reconciliation from a specific module, such as Medications or Problems, then Clinical Reconciliation displays only the tab corresponding to that module. Confirm Changes

Once you have decided which actions to perform you must confirm your changes for each clinical data type (Medications, Medication Allergies, and so on). Once you confirm your changes, the Clinical Reconciliation module updates the patient's chart. It does not update the information in the Import section or the imported document. Add User Notes

If needed, you can add comments for Import items in the User Notes column. When you confirm any changes, the Clinical Reconciliation module stores user notes in Reconciliation History. Select an item in the Import section. Select in the row under the User Notes column to display a data entry window. Data Entry Window for User Notes Enter you comment in the data entry window. Select OK. An icon displays in the User Notes column. User Notes Icon After confirming your changes, you can view the contents by selecting the Reconciliation History tab and expanding the row that corresponds to the date the comments were entered. User Notes in Reconciliation History Note: When there is a match and the selected import item is set to Ignore, you can add user notes to the Reconciliation History tab, but you cannot add the user notes to any of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules. Layout of the Import Tab

Most of the clinical data tabs (Medications, Meds Administered, and so on) display three sections (EHR, Import and Reconciliation Summary). Layout of the Import Tab The Import section displays information from the selected document that corresponds to the tab selected (for example, if you select the Medications tab, medications display). The EHR section displays information stored in the patient's chart that corresponds to the tab selected (for example, if you select the Medications tab, the patient's medications display). The Reconciliation Summary displays a list of items from both the Import and EHR sections and indicates the selected actions to be performed. The Diagnosis Codes and Procedures tabs display only the Import section. There is overlap between the contents of the Medications tab and the Meds Administered tab. Administered medications appear on both tabs, whereas medications that are prescribed but not yet administered appear only on the Medications tab. When you reconcil

Cancel Changes

If you have not yet confirmed changes, you can cancel the changes you have made in either of the following ways: To cancel changes without exiting the Clinical Reconciliation module, select Reset to reload the document: Reset Button To close the Clinical Reconciliation module without saving changes, do the following: Select the Close button or the white X on the title bar. Close Button If there are unsaved changes, a prompt appears asking if you want to save changes. Select No to cancel the pending changes and to close the program.
