Hide Insurance Information

You can hide the insurance information on a patient's chart in scenarios such as an incorrect insurance added to a patient's chart. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu and then select Hide Insurance. The Hide Insurance icon displays next to the insurer's name. Add Insurance to a Person or Patient

The Insurance Maintenance window is used to add insurance to a person or patient. You system adminstrator manages the insurer list in File Maintenance in the Payers master file. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the open menu and then select New Insurance. The Payer Lookup window appears. Enter the search criteria for the payer. Select Find, and double-click the applicable payer in the Payer List. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the Detail tab and enter the HIC/Policy Nbr. Modify Insurance Information

Modify Insurance Information Modify Insurance Information After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can view the insurance information in the Insurance Maintenance window. In this window, you can add new information or modify existing information. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu button and then select Open Insurance Information. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the desired tab to update or add information. You can access the following tabs in the Insurance Maintenance window: Detail Detail - 2 Ins Cards Benefit Info Authorizations Referrals Elig/Referral Website External For detailed information about modifying insurance information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Encounter Maintenance User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. Add an Eligibility Verification to a Person or Patient

This feature is only available for practices that has NextGen® Eligibility Verification license. After you add an insurer to a person or patient's profile, you can create and issue an Eligibility Inquiry. Some practices require a confirmation of eligibility from an insurer before performing a medical procedure. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu , and then select Eligibility Verification. The Eligibility Verification window appears. Select one or more entries in the following required fields. Requesting Physician Type of Service Enter any additional information. Select OK to save the changes. Add an Authorization to a Person or Patient Profile

After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can add an authorization code. Some practices require that you attach an authorization code to a patient's chart before performing a medical procedure. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu and then select Authorization. The Authorization Listing window appears. Select the open menu and then select New. The Authorization Code Tracking window appears. Enter data in the following required fields: Authorization Code Effective Date Expiration Date Enter any additional information. Select OK. Promote or Demote Insurance

After you add an insurer to a person or patient's profile, you can promote or demote the insurance provider. You can only promote the payers up to the insured level. You cannot promote a payer, with a relation as a subscriber, higher than a payer with the patient as the subscriber on this window. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the applicable insurer. Select the Open Menu , and then select one of the following: Promote to move the insurer higher in the list.
