Modify Insurance Information Modify Insurance Information After you add insurance information to a person or patient's profile, you can view the insurance information in the Insurance Maintenance window. In this window, you can add new information or modify existing information. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu button and then select Open Insurance Information. The Insurance Maintenance window appears. Select the desired tab to update or add information. You can access the following tabs in the Insurance Maintenance window: Detail Detail - 2 Ins Cards Benefit Info Authorizations Referrals Elig/Referral Website External For detailed information about modifying insurance information, go to the NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Encounter Maintenance User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise PM. Hide Insurance Information

You can hide the insurance information on a patient's chart in scenarios such as an incorrect insurance added to a patient's chart. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu and then select Hide Insurance. The Hide Insurance icon displays next to the insurer's name. Viewing Hidden Payers Information

In the Insurance Listing section on the Demographics tab, you can display the hidden payers by selecting the Show Hidden check box. When you clear the selection, the hidden payers are not displayed in Insurance Listing. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. You can perform the following actions related to hidden insurance: Displaying hidden payers- In the Insurance Listing section, the hidden payers are displayed after unhidden payers. If there are employer insurances, the hidden payers are displayed after the employer insurances. Note: When a new payer is marked as hidden, it appears at the end in the list of hidden payers. Promoting or Demoting hidden payers- You can promote and demote hidden payers only within the group of hidden payers. Note: If you attempt to promote the hidden payers above the unhidden payers,a warning message appears stating that a hidden insurance cannot be promoted above unhidden insurances. Add Insurance for Patients and Persons

You can add insurance information for a patient or other person by using the Insurance Maintenance window. The system administrator manages the list of insurers in File Maintenance in the Payers master file. From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart. In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and then select Find. In Matching Records, right-click the patient record, and then select Open.The Demographics tab opens in the Modify Patient Information window. In Insurance Listing, select the open menu icon, and then select New Insurance. In the Payer Lookup window, enter search criteria for the payer, and then select Find. In Payer List, double-click the applicable payer. In the Insurance Maintenance window, select the Detail tab, and then enter the health insurance claim or policy number in HIC/Policy Nbr. Viewing Hidden Payers in the Patient Chart

You can view hidden payers on the Insurance Listing window on the patient chart, by selecting the Show Hidden check box. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. In the Insurance Listing section, the hidden payers are displayed at the end of the list. If employer insurances are included, the hidden payers are displayed after the employer insurances. Note: When a new payer is marked as hidden, the payer appears at the end in the list of hidden payers. You can promote and demote hidden payers only within the group of hidden payers. Note: If you attempt to promote the hidden payers above the unhidden payers, then a warning message appears stating the restriction.
