Promote or Demote Insurance

After you add an insurer to a person or patient's profile, you can promote or demote the insurance provider. You can only promote the payers up to the insured level. You cannot promote a payer, with a relation as a subscriber, higher than a payer with the patient as the subscriber on this window. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the applicable insurer. Select the Open Menu , and then select one of the following: Promote to move the insurer higher in the list. Hide Insurance Information

You can hide the insurance information on a patient's chart in scenarios such as an incorrect insurance added to a patient's chart. In the Insurance Listing section of the Demographics tab, select the Open Menu and then select Hide Insurance. The Hide Insurance icon displays next to the insurer's name. A check mark appears next to Hide in the Open menu. Select OK to save the changes. Parent topic: Managing Insurance Information for a Person or Patient Profile

Viewing Hidden Payers in the Patient Chart

You can view hidden payers on the Insurance Listing window on the patient chart, by selecting the Show Hidden check box. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. In the Insurance Listing section, the hidden payers are displayed at the end of the list. If employer insurances are included, the hidden payers are displayed after the employer insurances. Note: When a new payer is marked as hidden, the payer appears at the end in the list of hidden payers. You can promote and demote hidden payers only within the group of hidden payers. Note: If you attempt to promote the hidden payers above the unhidden payers, then a warning message appears stating the restriction. When you select a payer as Available, promote , or demote a hidden payer, you must manually save the changes to the database by selecting OK. Parent topic: Patient Information Bar

Employer Insurance Information

When you select Insurance on the Employer Maintenance window, the Employer Insurance Association Listing window displays the list of insurance. In the Insurance Listing section, you can display the hidden payers by selecting the Show Hidden check box. When you clear the selection, the hidden payers are not displayed in Insurance Listing. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. You can see hidden payers in the Insurance Listing section only when you select the Show Hidden option.
