Add an Employer

Open the Person Information or Patient Information window for the desired person or patient. Select the Employer tab. Select the open menu , and select New. The Employer Lookup window appears. In the Employer Name field, enter all or part of the employer's name. Select Find. All employers that match the search criteria entered display in the Matching Records list. Note: Items available for selection are from the Employers master file in File Maintenance. If no records are found, the following prompt appears stating that no records were found. From the Matching Records list, double-click to select the employer. The Employer Maintenance window appears. Fields on the Employer Maintenance window are available for modification only if you have security access rights in System Administrator to update the Employers master file. Viewing Hidden Payers in the Patient Chart

You can view hidden payers on the Insurance Listing window on the patient chart, by selecting the Show Hidden check box. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. In the Insurance Listing section, the hidden payers are displayed at the end of the list. If employer insurances are included, the hidden payers are displayed after the employer insurances. Note: When a new payer is marked as hidden, the payer appears at the end in the list of hidden payers. You can promote and demote hidden payers only within the group of hidden payers. Note: If you attempt to promote the hidden payers above the unhidden payers, then a warning message appears stating the restriction. When you select a payer as Available, promote , or demote a hidden payer, you must manually save the changes to the database by selecting OK. Parent topic: Patient Information Bar

Viewing Hidden Payers Information

In the Insurance Listing section on the Demographics tab, you can display the hidden payers by selecting the Show Hidden check box. When you clear the selection, the hidden payers are not displayed in Insurance Listing. Note: The Show Hidden check box is not selected by default. Managing Employer Information

On the Employer tab, you can enter employer information for a person or patient, including the name, address, and phone and fax numbers for the employer. In addition, you can enter the person or patient's occupation and employment status. Information on the Employer tab is stored at the system level; therefore, all practices in all enterprises share the same information for a person or patient. Add Insurance for Patients and Persons

You can add insurance information for a patient or other person by using the Insurance Maintenance window. The system administrator manages the list of insurers in File Maintenance in the Payers master file. From the main toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select Chart. In the Patient Lookup window, enter search criteria, and then select Find. In Matching Records, right-click the patient record, and then select Open.The Demographics tab opens in the Modify Patient Information window. In Insurance Listing, select the open menu icon, and then select New Insurance. In the Payer Lookup window, enter search criteria for the payer, and then select Find. In Payer List, double-click the applicable payer. In the Insurance Maintenance window, select the Detail tab, and then enter the health insurance claim or policy number in HIC/Policy Nbr.
