Implantable Devices List

To help make better informed decisions about a patient's care, you can maintain a list of the patient's implantable devices that meets federal requirements. Implantable devices must be associated with an encounter. When Enterprise Chart is enabled, the patient’s implantable device details are shared across the practices in an enterprise. The implantable devices list helps you to: Specify that a patient has no implantable devices. Add an implantable device record to an encounter. Edit certain data on an implantable device record, including active and inactive status of that record. Link a device to a historical procedure or remove a link. Open the Clinical Reconciliation module to import new implantable device data from a C-CDA document to NextGen® Enterprise. Update a Procedure in a Patient Chart

You can modify an existing procedure as long as it is not assigned to a locked encounter. Also, you cannot make changes to a procedure that has an associated charge processed within NextGen® Enterprise PM. If you have the Auto-closing option enabled in the Practice Preferences and the charges associated with the selected procedure have been processed through NextGen® Enterprise PM prior to midnight of the previous day, the Financial Data cannot be modified due to the 24 hr rule message window opens. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an existing encounter or create an encounter. On the Top Toolbar, select . Delete a Procedure from a Patient Chart

You can delete a previously added procedure as long as it is not assigned to a locked encounter. Note: The deleted procedures are displayed on the Deleted Items window. Note: When you delete a procedure that is linked to an implantable device, the procedure information continues to display in the implantable device record until the procedure link is removed. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an existing encounter or create an encounter. On the Top Toolbar, select . The Procedures module window opens. In the procedures list, select the procedure to delete. Select Delete. If the procedure was entered in error, in the Delete window, select the This item was Entered in Errorand then select Yes. The item is deleted from the procedures list. Handling Medical Procedures and Implantable Devices

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can record the medical procedures associated with a patient, and manage medical device reports within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In Procedures module, you can add, modify, and delete any procedures related to a patient's medical history. The Procedures module also enables you to view who created and last modified any procedure. In implantable devices list, you can maintain a list of the patient's implantable devices that meet federal requirements. The Integrated Equipment module enables you to create and view medical device reports within NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In Superbill module, you can create a detailed summary of services provided with procedures, problems, and modifiers linked to each other. The Superbill module also enables you to assign a summary of services to a particular health plan, and subsequently export all the available information to the billing system. View Who Changed a Procedure

Whenever you create or modify a patient's procedure, the application records who made the change and when it was done. You can view who created and last modified any procedure. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from Patient Lookup window. On the Encounter History tab, select an existing encounter or create an encounter. On the Top Toolbar, select . The Procedures module window opens. Right-click the procedure, and select Who/When. The Modification Information window displays the name of the person who entered the procedure into the patient chart and the name of the person who last modified the selected procedure.
