Patient Information Features Specific to NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Features specific to NextGen® Enterprise EHR enable you to perform the following: Employ patient modes to control access and data entry by users and patients in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Set up patient groups to record data for multiple patients in a group. Access the Patient Demographics template to modify selected patient information. Set up a New Patient Group

Before you can use the patient group feature, you must set up at least one patient group and at least one Medical Records Group template or Medical Records Group Popup template. After you create a patient group, you can create a group encounter and then access the group template and enter the relevant details for the group encounter. From the File menu, select Patient Group. The Patient Group window appears. Select New Group. The New Patient Group window appears. Enter the name of the patient group to create in the box at the top. Add an optional description in the Notes box. Select Add. From the Patient Group list on the Patient Group window, select the group you created. All available patients appear in the Non-Member Patients section. You can search for particular patients or for all patients of a selected provider. To search for all patients of a provider, do the following: Enter the Last, First, or Middle Name of the provider. From the Search by list, select Provider. Select Searc

Modify a Patient Group

To modify a patient group in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR, do the following: Access Patient Groups. The Patient Group Search window opens. Search for a Patient Group. In the Matching Records section of the Patient Group Search window, select a group to be modified and then do one of the following: Select Open. Select Open Menu and select Open. Right-click and select Open. The Patient Group window opens. On the General tab, modify general information for the group. Select the Members tab to do any of the following: Add members to the group. Access for a member in the group. Remove members from the group. Transfer members from the group to another group. Add a member to an existing group appointment. Select the Appointments tab to view future group appointments scheduled for the group. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Add a Patient Group

To add a patient group in NextGen® Enterprise PM or NextGen® Enterprise EHR, do the following: Open Patient Groups. The Patient Group Search window opens. Search for a Patient Group. If the group you are searching for is not listed in the Matching Records section of the Patient Group Search window, do one of the following to add a new group: Select New. Select Open Menu and select New. Right-click and select New. The Patient Group window opens. On the General tab, enter general information for the group. Select the Members tab to add members to the group. To save changes and close the window, select OK. Note: The Appointments tab is blank when a new patient group is added. For an existing patient group, the tab displays future group appointments scheduled for the group. Add Patients to a Patient Group

You can add patients to a group. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and then from File, select Patient Group. On the Patient Group Search window, enter the Group Name and select Search. Select the desired group, and then select Open. The Patient Group [Group name] window opens. Select the Members tab. Select , and then select Add a Member. Enter the last name of the patient, and any other distinguishing data, and then select Find. Double-click the patient's name. The patient's name appears in the Member List. Select OK. Patient Groups Report

The Patient Groups report lists groups that have been created in either NextGen® Enterprise EHR or NextGen® Enterprise PM, including all patients added to or removed from each group. By default, the report is sorted by patient group name. To access the report in NextGen® Enterprise PM, select the Reports menu and select General and then select Patient Groups.
