Buttons Function You can choose to display only the new Lab tests, only the new Radiology tests, or All new order tests in the update list. You can choose to filter the new items by: New Information only Deleted Information only Conflict information only Different information only If selected, the differences are highlighted in the compendium list and the blue arrows are activated to move through the differences. If not selected, the differences are shown as plain text. Moves through the conflicts one at a time, or moves to the first or last conflict. Update the NextGen Test Compendium Using the Orders Management Console

New data is loaded into your database from a file created by NextGen System Support Double-click the shortcut on the desktop or select the Orders Management Console from the application launcher. Enter your credentials. The Orders Management Console application window opens. Select the option for the NextGen Test Compendium and select Download. The list of new tests available appears. If no new items are available, a message appears stating that there are no records to process. Use the color controls defined in this chapter to help with the processing of each new test. Update NextGen Test Code in a Compendium

You can update the NextGen Test associated with a test in a compendium. Open Orders Management Console. Open the download of a compendium. Select the down arrow next to the test code and select a code from the list of similar tests. Select Save or Save Modified. The new test code is saved. Note: In the Order Test Codes page of the Labcorp compendium, the New NextGen Test (Code) column displays the new test description with code, and the Current NextGen Test (Code) column displays the existing description with code from the NextGen database. Order NextGen Test Compendium Master File

The Order NextGen Test Compendium includes a list of all lab and radiology tests defined by NextGen. Before setting up NextGen Compendium, your system administrator must run the Order Management Console. The Order Management Console maps NextGen compendium codes to individual testing entity tables (such as Labcorp) that a practice uses to process tests. If your practice uses other compendiums, you must perform this process manually. By mapping the NextGen Compendium codes to Order Test codes (vendor compendiums), NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables users to order based on the NextGen compendium codes; and, therefore, ensuring the appropriate mapped vendor code is sent across the interface. This is particularly important when ordering from a template, since the templates are created using NextGen compendium codes. Compendium Test Order Keys

The Key names in the Order NextGen Test Compendium test orders all start with the letters "NG." For example, NG001743. These test Key names keep them from conflicting with any other compendiums Keys, for example the Labcorp compendium that is used with NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Searching for Tests Using the NextGen Compendium

You can search the NextGen compendium only for tests that have been mapped to the selected vendor compendium. By limiting searches to mapped tests, practices can eliminate errors that occur when an order without an associated vendor test code is sent across an interface. You can search for a test by the test description or test code. You can enter either the test description or user description in the Test Description field. Parent topic: Select Tests Panel
