Order NextGen Test Compendium Master File

The Order NextGen Test Compendium includes a list of all lab and radiology tests defined by NextGen. Before setting up NextGen Compendium, your system administrator must run the Order Management Console. The Order Management Console maps NextGen compendium codes to individual testing entity tables (such as Labcorp) that a practice uses to process tests. If your practice uses other compendiums, you must perform this process manually. By mapping the NextGen Compendium codes to Order Test codes (vendor compendiums), NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables users to order based on the NextGen compendium codes; and, therefore, ensuring the appropriate mapped vendor code is sent across the interface. This is particularly important when ordering from a template, since the templates are created using NextGen compendium codes. Orders Module and Unique NextGen Test Codes

Compendium files contain lists of orders that can be selected and attached to a patient encounter. If a compendium file has to be imported into NextGen, it has to follow a certain format. The NextGen test codes should all begin with "NG". If the NextGen test code happens to be same as the test code from another vendor and if the vendor code is part of a favorite list, then you see this favorite as part of the NextGen favorites. Orders Management Console

The Orders Management Console is used for loading lab and radiology test compendiums into NextGen® Enterprise EHR. It is accessed through the application launcher. The Orders Management Console can also be used to update test compendiums that are loaded into your NextGen® Enterprise EHR database. The importing and updating of vendor specific compendiums is based on NextGen® Enterprise EHR's support of the compendium for that specific vendor, for example Labcorp. The current version of NextGen® Enterprise EHR can only be used to add and update the NextGen, LOINC, Quest compendiums, and Labcorp compendiums. Configure Ophthalmic Tests for the Order Module Using Compendium Codes

You can send ophthalmic tests to the orders module using Compendium Codes. Update NextGen Test Code in a Compendium

You can update the NextGen Test associated with a test in a compendium. Open Orders Management Console. Open the download of a compendium. Select the down arrow next to the test code and select a code from the list of similar tests. Select Save or Save Modified. The new test code is saved. Note: In the Order Test Codes page of the Labcorp compendium, the New NextGen Test (Code) column displays the new test description with code, and the Current NextGen Test (Code) column displays the existing description with code from the NextGen database. Searching for Tests Using the NextGen Compendium

You can search the NextGen compendium only for tests that have been mapped to the selected vendor compendium. By limiting searches to mapped tests, practices can eliminate errors that occur when an order without an associated vendor test code is sent across an interface. You can search for a test by the test description or test code. You can enter either the test description or user description in the Test Description field. Parent topic: Select Tests Panel
