Field	Description
Description	To enter a description for this notification. Sample: Quest-Results. This field is a list.
External System ID	To select a test system, such as Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics from the list.
Provider ID	To select an available provider to be notified of these order results. This field is a list.
Location ID	To select an internal location. This field is a list.
Effective Dates	To enter the effective Start Date and End Date for the test result notification of selected users.
Notify Users	Displays a list of users selected for notification of test results.
Add	To open the Address Book window where you can add users to be notified.
Delete	To remove users selected in the Users list.
Clear All	To remove all users in the Users list.
Note	Enter any additional information.

Define Order Result Notifications

The Order Results Notifications master file provides a complete list of users to be notified of test results from a particular external lab system. To define Order result notifications: From the application launcher, select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Result Notifications. The Order Result Notifications List window opens. From the List access box, do one of the following: To add a new item, select Open Menu , and then select New. To modify an item, select the item in the list, select Open Menu , and then select Open. You can also double-click the item to open it. The Add Order Test Results Notification Information window opens. Enter the notification information. To add a user to be notified, select Add. The Address Book window opens. Under Show Users From, select the practice from which you want to select users. Test Order Notification Options

Field Description Ordering Provider Select to notify the Ordering Provider. Leave empty if you wish to use the settings in Rosetta. Created by User Select to notify the Provider who created the test order. Leave empty if you wish to use the settings in Rosetta. Additional User Enter the User ID of a specific user you want to notify. For this test, this can be used if a specific user needs to be notified any time a result is received for a specific test. Ask at Order Entry Questions These are questions required to submit the test, such as the patient's weight, whether or not they fasted, etc. Components These are individual result codes. Define Critical Result Ranges

You can define a range of results for each type of test order. Then, when results are recorded for test orders that are outside of the normal range, an alert appears. You must have permissions set up in System Administrator to set up and change alert settings. On the Orders Summary tab, select an order that has results with a status of Final. To expand the Results panel, select the down arrow. From the Results toolbar, select Setup. The vendors list is displayed from the external system table. The entity that performed the test is the default vendor. The list is associated with a specific vendor, such as Labcorp® or Quest Diagnostics®. The vendors list is provided by a system table and is loaded with NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The list is updated, when needed, by NextGen Healthcare. Select the vendor from the Please select vendor list. A list of all result components for that vendor appears. If the vendor is not set up with any components, the Components list is empty. Add or Modify a Test Order

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. Alternately, you can select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. The Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the order test details for each of the listed categories. For those categories that have a folder icon, select the folder and use the resulting window to select items from a list. Select the Specimen Handling tab. Enter the specimen handling information for each individual test order defined. Select the Options tab. Under Update Workflow Task Items, select the users to notify of the test results. These can include the ordering provider, the user who created the order, and an additional user. Order Component Information

Field Description System ID Select a testing entity. This can be a lab or radiology location. Examples are Labcorp and Quest Diagnostics. Key Enter a specific order component key. This is provided by the vendor. Description Enter a description of an order component. This is a text description such as Glucose, Sodium, and others. Code System Enter the Code System. This is an agreed upon ID for the testing entity such as "L" for Labcorp. Units Specify the type of units for the selected order component. This can be values such as ug/dL, %, Thous/mcl, and others. Ref Range Enter the acceptable range of results for the selected test order component. Examples are values such as 3.8-10.8, 130-400, F: 12-14; M 14-18. LOINC Code This is the Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) universal coding for test results. Order Lab Tests in the Lab Order Template

You can place orders for lab tests performed and billed in your practice or at an external facility. Open the Home or any other applicable template, select Orders from the upper navigation bar, and then select Lab Order. The Lab Order template opens. To add the diagnoses and procedures, select Dx & Px. Note: Selecting procedures is optional; however, you must select at least one diagnosis to order lab tests. Select one of the following options: Internal for lab tests performed and billed in your practice on the same day. External for lab tests performed and billed at an external facility.
