Test Order Notification Options

Field	Description
Ordering Provider	Select to notify the Ordering Provider. Leave empty if you wish to use the settings in Rosetta.
Created by User	Select to notify the Provider who created the test order. Leave empty if you wish to use the settings in Rosetta.
Additional User	Enter the User ID of a specific user you want to notify. For this test, this can be used if a specific user needs to be notified any time a result is received for a specific test.
Ask at Order Entry Questions	These are questions required to submit the test, such as the patient's weight, whether or not they fasted, etc.
Components	These are individual result codes.

Add or Modify a Test Order

Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Tests. Do one of the following: To add a new item, select open menu , and then select New. To modify an item, double-click the item to open it. Alternately, you can select the item in the list, select open menu , and then select Open. The Modify Order Test Information window displays the Test Details tab. Enter the order test details for each of the listed categories. For those categories that have a folder icon, select the folder and use the resulting window to select items from a list. Select the Specimen Handling tab. Enter the specimen handling information for each individual test order defined. Select the Options tab. Under Update Workflow Task Items, select the users to notify of the test results. These can include the ordering provider, the user who created the order, and an additional user. Adding or Modifying a Test Order in the Order Tests List

Each test vendor has to have each test order used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR defined for that specific vendor. For example, if you use three vendors to process tests, and you have common tests for blood work, glucose, cholesterol, throat cultures and iron counts, you must create three versions of each test, one version for each vendor. This graphic shows an example of a Glucose test in the master files defined for three different vendors. Note: When searching for items in the Order Tests List, you can change the focus of the search from System to Order Test Key to Order Test Description by selecting in the menu bar to move the highlight button to the item on which you want to use to complete the search. After you set the focus as described above, you can create vendor-specific groups of tests that are set up in the preferences for your location or for specific providers. Order Test Result Notification Settings

The following table explains the fields on the Add Order Test Results Notification Information. Field Description Description To enter a description for this notification. Sample: Quest-Results. This field is a list. External System ID To select a test system, such as Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics from the list. Provider ID To select an available provider to be notified of these order results. This field is a list. Location ID To select an internal location. This field is a list. Effective Dates To enter the effective Start Date and End Date for the test result notification of selected users. Notify Users Displays a list of users selected for notification of test results. Add To open the Address Book window where you can add users to be notified. Delete To remove users selected in the Users list. Clear All To remove all users in the Users list. Add or View Order Result Comments

You can view and add comments for an order test result. On the Results grid, select a patient’s numerical test result in a Collection Date & Time column. Select Tracking from the Results toolbar. You can view any comments that were entered previously. To add a comment, select Add. Another Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens, displaying the patient's information. Select Tracking as the comment Type. Enter a comment regarding the order results. If applicable, select My Phrases to select an appropriate phrase. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Set Up the Group to Notify for Failed Test Charges

If charge posting fails for any reason, you can identify who in your practice you want to send a notification to for any failed test charges. There is a field on the Order module practice preferences to set this value. Select File Maintenance > System > Practices. Select a practice. Select Preferences. Select Orders Module in the Preference List. Select the Folder button on the Group to Notify for Failed Charges field. In the Available Users and Groups section, select to highlight which group to notify. Select the Right Blue-Arrow to add that group to the Notified Users list. Select OK to save the value. Using the Orders Summary Tab

The Orders Summary tab provides order information in the following panels: Orders panel. View, update, and track existing orders and create orders for the current patient. Results panel. View test results from an interface or manually enter test results and related documents for the current patient. This panel is collapsed when you open the Orders Summary tab, but you can expand it to view its contents. Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. View and add order tracking or sign-off comments.
