Create an eRx Task List Tab

You can create user-defined tabs in the task list. By creating tabs and then assigning each task to a category, you can view tasks assigned only to a particular category or a group of categories. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the Main menu, select File > Workflow. The Work Flow window opens. Select Setup Tabs from the Tasks menu. Work Flow The Setup Task Tabs window opens. Setup Task Tabs Note: The All Tasks tab is hard-coded and cannot be edited or deleted. You cannot assign task list categories to the All Tasks tab. All available tasks display on the All Tasks tab. Select Add. The <New Tab> opens. Setup Task Tabs Enter a name for the new tab. Assign a specific Task List Category to the tab. Setup Task Tabs Note: Only the tasks assigned to the specific Task List Category display on this tab at run time. If you do not assign any Task List Categories to a tab, all Tasks display on the tab. To re-order created tabs, select Order Tabs. Select OK. Parent topic: Optional Settings

Assign eRx Workgroups and Category to a Provider

After creating the work group and task category, you must assign them to the provider. In File Maintenance, from Master Files > System, select Providers. The Providers List window opens. Double-click a provider. The Modify Provider Information window opens. Select the ePrescribing tab. For each Task Type in the Workgroup section, select the workgroup that receives the new workflow task and select the category that the task is placed in for the selected provider. eRx Refills Select OK to save the changes and exit the Modify Provider Information window. eRx Workgroup

The Group Tasking feature enables you to associate specific users with workgroups. When users are added to a workgroup, they receive all tasks assigned to the particular workgroup and can accept any of the available tasks. Any task accepted by a user is no longer available in the workgroup. All tasks accepted by a user are always displayed, regardless of the workgroup that the user is signed into. For instance, users may rotate schedules and work for different doctors and departments. When users log on to the system, they may need the ability to associate themselves with an alternate group. Any tasks the user accepted previously remain with the user; however, no tasks assigned to the original workgroup display in the user's Task List. Instead, the tasks associated with the newly chosen workgroup become available for the user to accept. Tasks are not assigned to a user until they are accepted by the user. For this Task Type Select a Workgroup to eRx Refills Receive a new workflow task when a pharmacy in the SureScripts retail pharmacies network sends an electronic prescription refill request to this provider. eRx Errors Receive free-standing errors. RxChange Receive a new workflow task when a pharmacy in the SureScripts retail pharmacies network sends a request to change an electronic prescription to this provider. ePA Receive a new electronic prior authorization (ePA) task when an ePA status update indicates user action is required. Create an eRx Task List Category

Before setting up the task list categories, you must set up the appropriate user rights and permissions. The access rights for the edit task category list permissions is disabled by default in NextGen® Enterprise. Contact your system administrator to modify the user rights and permissions. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the Main menu, select File > Workflow. The Work Flow window opens. Select Setup Tabs from the Tasks menu. Work Flow The Setup Task Tabs window opens. Setup Task Tabs Select Setup Categories. The Task Category List window opens. Task Category List Select Add. Task Category List Enter a name for the category. The category is added to the list. ePrescribing Setup

Before you begin Before you use the NextGen® Enterprise EHR ePrescribing feature, the following ePrescribing setup procedures must be completed: Install NextGen® Communication Services (NCS). Enable Surescripts functionality in NCS. Note: Before you attempt to set up ePrescribing, you must contact NextGen Healthcare Support to install and configure NCS. Download the Surescripts pharmacies. Map unmatched pharmacies and add unmatched pharmacies as new. Check the pharmacy service level. Enroll the providers in the Surescripts network. Set up eRx permissions for the providers. Set up ePCS (Electronic Prescriptions of Controlled Substances) for authorized providers. Set up tabs and categories for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module's task list. Set up workgroups for eRx refills and eRx errors in the Workflow module.
