View the Reason for a Lab Order Failure

If a lab order is created and it fails, the Result Status on the Order is Sent Failed. An order can fail because the system can't find a match for the provider, patient, location, practice, or other patient and encounter detail. To view a tooltip with the reason for the failure, put your cursor in the Result Status column on the Orders Summary tab and select one of the Sent Failed messages. Parent topic: Grid Results Tab

Real-time Address Validation for a Provider

Real-time address validation occurs after you enter an address for a Provider and select OK to save the data. This process applies to addresses entered on the Demographics tab of the Add/Modify Provider Information window. After you selectOKthe address is automatically sent to the USPS address validation API and compared to the addresses in the USPS database. The address fields that are sent for validation are address 1, address 2, city, state, and zip. The name of the entity is not sent. The USPS address validation API responds with one of several messages stating: Valid address. Address cannot be found. This address may be undeliverable. Address can be updated. The USPS provides the address found in the database. Select a Vendor

If a preferred vendor has been configured in File Maintenance, the vendor's name appears by default. To add or change the vendor for the order, click the Vendor field on the template and select the vendor. If the vendor is unknown, you can select To be determined. Note: If you select To be determined, when you place the order, the application will select the Save to Module but Don't Send to Interface queue check box. The orders will be placed in the Orders module with the status of New and the Performing Entity column will remain blank. The Ask at Order Entry (AOE) functionality will not be available since the AOE questions require a performing entity. If you select Labcorp or Quest and your practice has configured the patient service center (PSC) hold setting for these vendors on the Practice Configuration template, the application selects the Quest/Labcorp PSC Hold check box. Select a Provider Associated with a Location

If you enable the Use link between Location and Provider Medical Records preference, follow the workflow below to select a provider. Note: You must select a location and provider to use NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When these fields are filled in, you cannot leave them blank. Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR. If you have set up Location and Provider preferences, the location and provider appear in the Top toolbar. No action is needed. If you have not set up a location and provider, the Select Location window opens. Select the location. If the selected location has associated providers, the Select Provider (Filtered by Location) window opens, listing only those providers. Select the provider. The selected provider appears in the Provider field on the Top toolbar. All providers associated with the location are available for selection in the Provider field list.
