View the Contents of a Clinical Note in Custom View

Clinical notes store narrative text explaining various aspects of patient care. The CDA Viewer displays some types of clinical notes as sections. In addition, any section in a C-CDA document can include a clinical note that applies to the whole section or to individual rows in the section. To view a clinical notes section, select one of the following section bars in the left pane: Consultation Note Discharge Summary Note History and Physical Note Progress Note The right pane scrolls until the selected section appears. Navigate to a Clinical Notes Section To view clinical notes for a section, select the Clinical Notes icon in the section heading. Clinical Notes Icon in a Section Heading The <Clinical Notes Type> - Clinical Notes window opens. If there is more than one clinical note for the section, select a note from the list. On the Custom View tab, select the gear Gear icon. The CDA Viewer Configuration window opens. Send a C-CDA Document as a Task from CDA Viewer

The Tasking (Tasking) icon in the CDA Viewer allows you to send a C-CDA document as a task to specific user or user groups. The tasking icon appears at the top-right side of the document and in each C-CDA section (except the Header and Demographic sections). This feature is available only when you access the CDA Viewer in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and the Reconciliation module. After opening a C-CDA document in the CDA Viewer, do one of the following: To mark the whole document as a task, on the Custom View tab or the Full View tab, select Tasking (Tasking) at the top of the document. To mark a specific section as a task, on the Custom View tab, select Tasking (Tasking) in the section that you want the recipient to focus on. The New EHR Task window appears. New EHR Task Note: The current C-CDA document is automatically attached to the task. One-Click Reconciliation

The one-click reconciliation feature enables you to import data from within the Custom View tab for the CDA that is currently open. This feature satisfies Meaningful Use Stage 3 rule §170.315(b)(2), "Clinical Information Reconciliation," including the ability to Simultaneously display the data from an external system and existing data in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Create a single reconciled list for each clinical data category, including medications, medication allergies, and problems. Review and validate the accuracy of a final set of data. The Custom View displays a Reconcile (reconcile) button next to each section heading and each individual item that is eligible for import. By hovering or clicking this button, you can open the one-click reconciliation window and confirm the import of selected items. The one-click reconciliation feature does not replace the full Clinical Reconciliation module, which continues to be available on the Import tab. One-click reconciliation is suitable for

Viewing CDA Documents in Custom View

Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) documents can contain hundreds of sections. To help you focus on the most important sections for your daily work, the Custom View tab supports the following subset of CDA sections that contain the most critical information: Demographics Header Medications Meds Administered Allergies Problems Immunizations Results Encounters Vital Signs Procedures Family History Social History Advanced Directives Medical Equipment Payers Reason for Referral Discharge Summary Note Consultation Note History And Physical Note Progress Note To see any of the sections not supported in the Custom View tab, refer to the Full View tab. Navigate between Sections in Custom View

In the Custom View of CDA Viewer, the left pane provides features that enable navigation or briefly preview the information in each section. This pane is divided into labeled section bars. Left Pane Navigation Features To select a section, select the corresponding section bar. This action causes the right pane to scroll until the corresponding section is visible. Navigate to a Section To change the order of the sections, select and drag the six dots Six Dots Icon up or down. To determine the number of records in each section, view the count that appears after the section name.
