Perform Actions for a Section in Custom View

In Custom View of CDA Viewer, you can use the controls in each section heading to perform actions for that section. Controls to Perform Actions for a Section To expand a section, select , or to collapse a section, select . If the text Showing: All (<number> of <number>) is blue and underlined, select this text to choose among available filters for the section. Depending on the type of data, one of the following types of filters appears: Date range Active status Administered or ordered status To send the section as a task to a provider, select the tasking Tasking icon. To add comments to the section, select the comment Comment icon. To perform one-click reconciliation for the section, select the import Import icon. To display clinical notes for the section, select the clinical notes Clinical Notes icon. To display the human-readable contents of the section, select the human-readable human readable icon. Navigate between Sections in Custom View

In the Custom View of CDA Viewer, the left pane provides features that enable navigation or briefly preview the information in each section. This pane is divided into labeled section bars. Left Pane Navigation Features To select a section, select the corresponding section bar. This action causes the right pane to scroll until the corresponding section is visible. Navigate to a Section To change the order of the sections, select and drag the six dots Six Dots Icon up or down. To determine the number of records in each section, view the count that appears after the section name. Perform Actions for a Whole C-CDA Document in Custom View

In the upper right area in Custom View, you can perform a number of actions that affect the whole document. Controls for Document-Level Actions To sign off on the document, select the sign-off Sign-Off icon. The sign-off Sign-Off icon appears only if prerequisites have been met, as described in Criteria to Sign-off C-CDA Documents from Custom CDA Viewer, and the CDA Viewer is not running within the Provider Approval Queue (which provides its own signoff buttons). To send the document as a task to a provider, select the tasking Tasking icon. To save a filtered view of the document to the patient chart, select the save Save icon. To add comments to the document, select the comment Comment icon. To apply an existing filter to the document, choose a filter from the list. View the Contents of a Clinical Note in Custom View

Clinical notes store narrative text explaining various aspects of patient care. The CDA Viewer displays some types of clinical notes as sections. In addition, any section in a C-CDA document can include a clinical note that applies to the whole section or to individual rows in the section. To view a clinical notes section, select one of the following section bars in the left pane: Consultation Note Discharge Summary Note History and Physical Note Progress Note The right pane scrolls until the selected section appears. Navigate to a Clinical Notes Section To view clinical notes for a section, select the Clinical Notes icon in the section heading. Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) documents can contain hundreds of sections.
