Features of the Custom View

You can quickly access the data you need by using the following features in the Custom View of CDA Viewer. Features for navigation. Features of the whole document. Features of individual sections. Features of individual rows within each section. Custom View Navigate between Sections in Custom View In the Custom View of CDA Viewer, you can use the section bars in the left pane to navigate to each section. Perform Actions for a Whole C-CDA Document in Custom View In the Custom View of CDA Viewer, you can perform a number of actions for the entire document. Perform Actions for a Section in Custom View In the Custom View in CDA Viewer, you can perform actions for each section, such as adding a task, viewing comments, or performing reconciliation. Perform Actions for a Row in Custom View In the Custom View in CDA Viewer, you can perform actions for individual rows in a section, such as performing reconciliation or viewing clinical notes. One-Click Reconciliation

The one-click reconciliation feature enables you to import data from within the Custom View tab for the CDA that is currently open. This feature satisfies Meaningful Use Stage 3 rule §170.315(b)(2), "Clinical Information Reconciliation," including the ability to Simultaneously display the data from an external system and existing data in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Create a single reconciled list for each clinical data category, including medications, medication allergies, and problems. Review and validate the accuracy of a final set of data. The Custom View displays a Reconcile (reconcile) button next to each section heading and each individual item that is eligible for import. By hovering or clicking this button, you can open the one-click reconciliation window and confirm the import of selected items. The one-click reconciliation feature does not replace the full Clinical Reconciliation module, which continues to be available on the Import tab. One-click reconciliation is suitable for

General Options in Custom View of CDA Viewer

You can control the following options from the General tab in the CDA Viewer Configuration window. Option Description Enable Smart Column Sizing If selected, this option causes column widths to be adjusted automatically when you resize the CDA Viewer window. Remember Column Ordering If selected, this option enables you to reorder columns in sections by dragging the column headings. Enable Automatic CDA Validation If selected, this option causes CDA validation to be performed whenever you open a document. Show Reconciliation Status For This option specifies whether reconciliation status should be displayed for All importable sections Only the Medications, Allergies, and Problems sections No sections Font Size This option specifies a font size of Small, Medium, or Large. Default CDA Viewer Tab This option specifies whether CDA Viewer should initially open to the Custom View, Full View, or default view for the practice. Viewing CDA Documents in Custom View

Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) documents can contain hundreds of sections. To help you focus on the most important sections for your daily work, the Custom View tab supports the following subset of CDA sections that contain the most critical information: Demographics Header Medications Meds Administered Allergies Problems Immunizations Results Encounters Vital Signs Procedures Family History Social History Advanced Directives Medical Equipment Payers Reason for Referral Discharge Summary Note Consultation Note History And Physical Note Progress Note To see any of the sections not supported in the Custom View tab, refer to the Full View tab. Enable Automatic Validation

To control whether CDAs are automatically validated when they are opened, To set the overall default behavior, Select the Custom tab. Select Custom View Filters Settings. Select or clear Enable Automatic CDA Validation. Select Save, then Close. Note: If you close without saving, the changes are lost. To set the default for when CDA Viewer opens in the Data Share module, In the Data Share module, select Settings Settings. Select or clear Enable Automatic Validation. Scroll down if necessary and select Apply. To set the default for when CDA Viewer opens in the Medical Summary Utility, In the Medical Summary Utility, select File > Options. CDA Validation

The CDA Validation feature displays a detailed report of items in a CDA that violate CDA standards. This feature is available in both Custom View and Full View. Enable Automatic Validation You can specify whether the CDA Viewer automatically performs validation when you open a document.
